Saw this a while back. Shouldn't be a surprise that a AWD car is quicker off the line than a RWD car. Outside of that, it would get romped by a Z06.

That Audi S8 is mighty impressive though.

have you ridden in a Tesla 4-door?

That car is really quick.

Nice car, but you'll be spending 120k or more to just barely keep up with a stock Z06 from 0-100. Z06 will handily beat it in every other racing situation. I would assume people buying an Audi S8 aren't trying to be the fastest car on the road, though.

Not going to blast the Z06 vs Audi S8, but I can say if I could afford the S8 as my sedan, I would be hitting the pedal off every light with opportunity. Don't care if it is a moped next to me, I'm gone.

I'm a big fan of the entire Audi RS series.

Since when is 11.8 @ 118 faster than a Z06? You might argue it is even, but that 118 mph trap speed would tell me it's still slower than a Z06.

Yay for AWD and launch control . It is almost laughable that Motortrend thinks a high-end luxury car over $110K needs to validate itself in such a way.

This same company tested a Z06 at 11.9 @ 123mph. I guess that's "embarassed" by the S8's 11.8 @ 118, although I think most people would prefer that extra 5 mph.

Of course, the MotorTrend review stopped making comparisons to the Z06 when it came to every other performance category. That S8 looked pretty uncomfortable in the video trying to go around the figure 8's and skid pads.

This is like comparing an F-16 to the space shuttle.

I thought I was the only one in love with the S8. The car is stunning and performs (it is a full size sedan) very well. It wasn't designed to run with the R8, but its no slouch for a big comfy barge.

Normally not an Audi fan, but this probably is my favorite of the German Executive Sedans, though I wouldn't turn down an S63 or S65 either.

The BMW 7/Alpina B7 seem so outclassed though.

Motortrend is one of the worst publications ever. I'd trust car info from Cosmo before them.

I have always told myself if I could only have one car that could do it all, that would be it.
