Default 2006 Mercedes C230 WTF!!

Boss brought over the Mercedes cause it was overheating....ok lets pull off the termostat....and WTF!!! Anyone ever seen this before. Thermostat is stuck in peanut butter looking crap. Thought cracked head so drained the oil and it looked perfect just jet black cause it runs 0W40. He has never put anything in but coolant and has owned car since it was new. Maybe its cracked and oil is running into coolant and not the other way around?

So ... did you order the new engine yet? How many miles on the car?

My old man is running an E500 with almost 200k miles on it now. Runs like a top. He's probably spent $10k in maintenance on it since buying it used with 27k miles back in '07.

He recently had it in to have the spark plugs changed and a valve cover gasket. I was talking to his mechanic who suggested - "well when the engine quits, we'll order another one and drop it in."

I suggested - I don't think so. We'll rent a storage unit and part it out. It's worth $6-$8k whole running and $10k in parts (at least). I'll find him another one.

I thought his mechanic was going to cry. Mercedes dealers live off crap like this...
