Take this with a grain of salt too please. Most of these cars I would refuse to even sit in. Most appear as if they had dirt in the brush that day when repainted.

You see huge variations in price for a reason.

Right now at the auction - a clean, one owner, no paintwork, tired up, no pick truck is bringing retail.

Gotcha.. looks like these are going to be a little higher than I'm willing to pay. It's hard to consider a 5 yr old escalade (built on a 7-8 yr old chassis) when you can have other SUVs that are brand new for the same price..

FAUEE

Before I bought my Jeep, I wanted an Escalade EXT. Looked at a few 08-09 with lower miles (circa 40k), that were all mid to upper $30s. Got my Jeep with a WAY nicer interior, way more features, way better build quality, and newer with lower miles fr less money. The GC Overland isn't quite as big, and no 3rd row, but blows it away in every other category.

The GC is actually what I have in mind.. I realize theyre in two different size classes, but like you say.. You can get a loaded up jgc NEW for the price of a pretty well used caddy. Not sure how the escalades cost so much new...

I just bought a 07 AWD with 52k in exc cond for 27.8k FWIW. None of the others I looked at were even close when $, miles, and condition were considered. There were none in the Tampa area, had to go to Miami.

We almost Leased a 14' JGC Overland a week ago but went with a Infiniti JX instead. The residual on the JGC was horrible! We got a 7K more expensive JX for LESS than the JGC was (yes, they were at invoice minus holdback on the JGC)

I loved the bold look of the Jeep, the off road capabilities but not only did payment sway us but so did the service department. None of our local dealers had loaners readily available if we needed to just drop by for a oil change as where the Infiniti dealership has over 30 loaners.

I personally wouldn't but a the Escalade because it's a gas guzzling pig!
