Default For Sale - 2002 Porsche 911 4S

Long time Corvette Forum member and multiple Vette owner, still have my chrome bumper C3 coupe.

Too many cars and not enough time to drive this one. 2002 Carrera 4S with 66,900 miles. Arctic Silver, 6 speed manual, slightly lowered with Bilstein PSS9's and upgraded 19-inch wheels/tires. All the usual equipment that the 4S came with, including full leather, power seats (not heated), plus technic package (6 disc CD unit in frunk), rear wiper, silver faced instruments. Car comes with a Porsche car cover. The original factory turbo wheels and tires are in my garage and may be negotiated as part of this sale. Everything works as it should. Car is located in the NW, near Vancouver WA. Looking for $30,000.

The history of the car is a bit vague and receipts back to day one do not exist, so if you are a purist who needs to know everything that ever happened to a car, this is not for you. If however you are interested in a very solid, very good condition 4S with all of the important maintenance items taken care of by me during my three years of ownership, this may be for you. I bought the car going on three years ago with 63,642 miles from a local gent (mid 50's) who had purchased the car about three years before from an owner in the Calif. Bay Area (who was not the original owner either). According to the AutoCheck records search that we did three years ago, the car has no accident or other negative history, clean title, and rated 96 points at that time. The person I purchased the car from had virtually no records available to give me. I did a thorough inspection and felt the car was in very good shape so I purchased it. I later had some maintenance work done by a well established Porsche Indy in Portland and they confirmed the overall excellent condition of the car.

Although the car was in great shape, it did need a few things doing, and I also elected to do some additional maintenance to the tune of about $5k as follows;

• Front Brake Rotors, Pads, Sensors, Bolts at 64,356m on 11/11/12.
• Misc parts; front license plate, oil filter, drain plug, drive belt at 64,500m on 12/10/12.
• Flush & replace brake fluid, review overall car at 64,931m on 12/20/12.
• Replace front differential seals, flush replace differential fluid, replace battery, replace pass side seat belt retractor at 65,030m on 12/31/12.
• Replace pass side window lift regulator at 66,100m on 07/20/13.
• Replace clutch, bearing, flywheel bolts, air/oil sep, replace transaxle oil, engine oil & filter change at 65,993 on 09/11/13.
• Replace rear tires (Toyo Proxes 315/25ZR19) at 66,632m on 05/17/14.
• Installed stainless steel fully adjustable upper rear control arms, then four wheel alignment at 66,700m in June 2014.
• Replace rear rotors and rear brake pads at 66,958m on 08/23/14.

The only mechanical item of note is the engine history, this not being the original, which was confirmed when the Indy had the clutch out for replacement late last year. This is a 2005 factory exchange engine, coded AT = Austausch = Exchange, at approx 35,000m in about 2005. There was no documentation on this other than the coding of the engine itself. This would mean the present engine has about 30,000 miles on it based on a change out date of 2005 (or later). As this is a later version M96 engine, it has the more internalized IMS bearing. The area was completed dry when the clutch was changed last year with no indications of IMS or RMS seal problems.

Overall a very solid and satisfying car to own and drive. The full leather interior is in very good condition with no rips/tears/cracks. The body & paint is in overall very good condition with the usual road chips that are commensurate with a car driven 66,000 miles. I am a mid 50’s auto enthusiast and have owned more cars than I can remember, many sports cars, this being my second 911. I am not in any hurry to sell, don’t need the money or the space, just not driving it much as I would like. No trades with the only possible exception of a 2010-13 Mercedes E350/550 4Matic.

I travel a lot for work and do not always check messages daily, so please be patient with response time to your questions, it may take me a day or two. Can respond to ahcah@msn.com. Thanks.
