Drag Strip Shoot-Out

Wow! 40 pages +. On just one aspect of a great car's performance(Z06).
Congrats 9ball on setting up a fair event. You could have responded to the cheating, staged video comments and thread about your roll racing with bench racing and a war of words. Instead, you set up an unbiased event. I hope we see far more of these for the two great American sports cars. Road course shoot outs would be great.
The competition is driving the golden age of street cars.
And, for fun.
Will this make us sell our cars and buy Hondas?

There is always a faster car, buy what you like. Thank you Viper owners, so far all of you think this video is hilarious, that's the way it should be.

Finally...a few guys with a sense of humor! Ahhhhhhhh.
But you just know that video was made by a Honda fan who paid that Viper dude to sand bag. Now way any Honda ever made could do that...or at least that's how all this conspiracy nonsense starts...
Stock Honda beats modded Viper...and on stock tires nonetheless!!! WOW. Blow up the Internet NOW! Hahahahahahahahahahaha.

Official: 2015 Corvette Z06 faster than Hellcat, Ferrari, McLaren
Be prepared for more videos and data. Cars participating so far, but we are still looking for a stock ZR1 to join.
Hopefully any Corvette or Viper fanboys/trolls will be able to digest the data we collect tomorrow, and watch the videos without making excuses for either camp.
Same track. Same day. Same driver, if people are willing to toss keys.
EDIT 05-Jan: RESULTS here!

Same track, same day is what we tested. I gave up racing magazine articles and press releases, years ago.

Its amazing that now that the fan boy waxers have their own sacred playground back and have been successful in segregating these threads, that people are actually getting along now in this thread and having some fun!

They could have easily modified a few things and stuck some 335/345s on the rear like the C7 Z and Viper have, and really kicked some *** in street trim. Those puny little tires are a joke for all the power that bad *** cat is making.

Speaking of "The Hemi", the stuff legends were made of.
I owned a 4 speed 68 Hemi Road Runner and a 70 Hemi Cuda (boy that thing was beautiful) in the old-en days. I got to tell ya that I could stare at those engines for "Hours" It's just the "baddest" looking engine ever.
PS: If in tune, they would rotate the earth under its wheels when taking off.
I did not switch to GM until 1982 when the hottest thing Mopar offered that year was a 2.2

I agree they were and still are awesome engines to look at and the Ford Boss 429 was in the same league..honorable mention is the 13-14 GT500's 5.8 engine.....

I know this is going to be hard to believe (so I will leave that up to you) but I was watching one of those weekend car shows a good number of years ago where they rebuilt/blueprinted a group of hero engines like the Ford 427, Chrysler 426 Hemi, etc. Well the engine that made the most HP of the group by far was the 426 Hemi at ........wait for it..........800 HP Second place of the group came in around 625 HP and was a Ford if I remember correctly.
I have to tell ya, that I did not expect "just a blueprinted" which really meant in this test holding the "stock stuff" to certain clearances/dimensions that the Chrysler "street" Hemi would make that much HP. WOW!

If you caught that same show several weeks later...they clarified that the "Hemi blueprint build" was done ala NASCAR style/specs as was the Ford engine showing what was possible, NOT what the cars came with in factory trim. I believe they stated at the time they made those clarifications that the GM ZL1 engine was actually the most powerful that came in cars from the factory (rated at 425 but actually well over 550hp) and the LS6 in the 1970 Chevelle SS 454 came with the highest rated hp numbers from the factory (450) though it fell short in in actuality to the ZL1 in actual hp.
No doubt the 426 Hemi was a beast and capable of much more than the factory rated 425hp and was probably severely under rated as well at that, but it wasn't turning 800hp with just "blue printing" the engine, unless those terms meant additional head, cam, carb and exhaust work.
But I digress...what does that have to do with the current Z06? Not a dang thing.
Well Hell...I just noticed. We are now in the "Off Topic" area. Perfect!! As I was saying...hahahahha.

The only other thing I remember about that show was it looked like they were doing things fair and square between the brands. I sure did not think they were Mopar fans like me.
Story Time: My "wish" got answer one day on my way to the track with my 82 Trans Am that I installed a 400 chevy small block in that ran 11's at the time. I looked over while sitting at a traffic light and A WHITE FORD BOSS 429 MUSTANG 4 SPEED, looked factory (mint) except for the nice mag wheels & fat rear tires. I "tapped" the gas a few times and gave him a dumb *** smile that said "I can beat you" which pissed him off so he had to teach me (the un-knowing stupid jerkoff) a lesson so when the light turned green I gave him the jump so I would know he was really racing than I went by him like a bullet >>> well he felted so bad he made a quick right into a gas station and then out the back. He most likely kicked his tires when he got home and to this day wonders how a candy *** looking driver in a red 82 Pontiac Firebird made him look like he was going backwards. I have seen 2 maybe 3 Boss 429 Mustangs in my life on the street (a really great/badass looking car) and to get the chance to kick *** on one; Priceless!

I think when they did the "blueprint show" the idea was to show how much potential there was in the engine, not so much what it had from the factory with a stock build. At least that is what I remember getting out of it.
