Laguna Seca record

For reference, the P1 pole qualifying time for the C7.R at Laguna Seca was 1:22.373. I realize that's a big difference in racing terms, but we are talking a full blown LeMans-winning GTE Pro race car in qualifying trim vs. a street legal car. I'm just blown away.
Oh, and is it possible this is the fastest car in the Fiat/Chrysler stable? How embarrassing for the LaFerrari. Hopefully this will give the Viper program new life. In any event it's good to know Ralph Gilles has some vindication for his hard work with SRT and the Viper. He's a car guy's car guy.

Chip Romer's record time was set in a GT3R. There are only a handful of them in the country. The only faster 911 is the 911RSR that the Porsche factory races against the C7R.
Absolutely amazing times posted at all the tracks. I'm in shock. I've raced at about half of those tracks and know what it takes to turn those times. Damn, it's just hard to comprehend the ACR is that fast.

A GT3 is nothing in the context of this conversation. Our cars will run circles around a 991 GT3.

Crazy time. In before the move.

Goodness! That's awesome, does the Z have any times on those tracks aside from VIR, willows?

That is so cool! Love the ACR, was drooling over one here locally. Went back to look at it and it was sold already. Perhaps the next one...
I still think the Z is a completely different car though. I don't see them competing really. I would much rather drive the Z around town, and to dinner. But I would rather drive the ACR on the track (possibly.)
I just don't fit in the vipers well. I am not a huge guy either, but I do have broad shoulders. My left one touches the side window, it sucks...

Objectively the ACR and the vette have the same horsepower in my book.... Within a few hp counts as far as I am concerned.
What the ACR has that the vette doesn't is stupendous downforce. And the vette is no slouch.
