Default Issue with my Jetta

There seem to be a lot of really smart people here when it comes to all things auto related, so I thought I would ask here first.

I have a 2003 Volkswage Jetta 2.0 (not diesel or turbo) that I use as a daily driver. It has just over 140,000 miles on it. Recently, it started producing HUGE plumes of white smoke at highway speeds. The plumes of smoke will only last for a few seconds and then stop. Car runs fine, no feeling in change of power when the smoke appears. This has happened 3 or 4 times over the past couple of weeks. The car does seem to be consuming more oil than it should. Any ideas? PCV valve?

If it's white, coolant in the exhaust. If it's blue, oil.

Pay better attention to it next time it happens. I would guess it's the PCV is letting oil by and it's blue smoke. But if it really is white, likely a headgasket.

Also, check on vwvortex

I found the dipstick tube is broken. Apparently a common problem on this car. I will replace and see if that fixes the issue.
