Default Corvette or Miata

Hey guys, this is recycle13s fiancé (when you read this babe, I'm sorry.. Was just trying to help. I'm making steak & baked potatoes for dinner just the way you like it).
Redcycle13 is a corvette man through & through owning many z06 vettes, road race and track vettes over the years. Recently a young girl ran a red light and hit us, totaling out his baby, a 1200HP c5 corvette he built from the ground up and, owned over 10 years. He likes power.
Now he's thinking about getting a 2016 Miata convertible. He's never owned a Miata or test drove one. If any of you guys have ever debated this decision, owned or track drove a Miata could you leave a comment on your personal experience. Also what you see as pros or cons or maybe which c5, c6, or c7 would be cheaper than a Miata. Thank you guys! I appreciate any feedback you have to offer!

If he can't decide between a Corvette and a Miata he really deserves to get the Miata

Yup, LS3 powered late model Miata. Not cheap, but 1000 lb less than Z06

I agree. $50,000 for 525 HP LS3(near bulletproof engine) in a 2,500 pound turnkey Miata. It will eat a C7 Z06 alive, for half the price, and you won't be looking at the C7's ugly taillights

$50K for the conversion. So $80K or so all in.

As for solstice, the query was Miata/Vette. I suppose we could ask about Nobles, Ariels, Factory 5 vehicles and more.

The article I read a couple of days ago didn't mention that the $50,000 was on top of the $30,000. That makes a lot of difference. But, even at $80,000, it will still eat a C7 Z06 alive. Of course, with the fire sales going on to get rid of the 2016 Z06's, a new $81,000 2016 Z06 can be purchased for under $66,000(if you are eligible for the $2,000 loyalty discount).
