any fiero fans?
I had an 86 fiero gt in the late 80's and sold it around 90 but a few months ago what I thought was a good deal popped up on this nearly restored slightly modded 87 GT so I grabbed it, forgot how much fun these little cars are, work on my 69 corvette is slow due to health and weather so this is a fun diversion, might do a supercharger swap might flip it who knows.
Any other fans of these little cars here?

I bought one last year, 1986 2M6 for $1,500. I love this thing.

I had an '87 GT. Went through it end to end 'till it would give Mustang GT's a good run. Even drove it a lap around Indy with the the Fiero club. Then I bought my first vette - an 89 6spd with FX-3. Made me realize what a waste of time those Fiero's were!

I have owned vettes all my life 66-86 and have a 69 convertible bb right now and its a sweet beast and if I could only own one car the vette would win, but as a 2k fun toy this little fiero is rather sweet too.
But I get the waste of time thing, I couldn't sell my c4 fast enough

It's funny, the Vette and Fiero are in two completely different categories when it comes to performance, but the Fiero can be more fun out on the street. I can drive the snot out of that thing all the time and not worry about attracting the wrong kind of attention, but if I go more than half throttle in the Vette (even the 89) I am just asking for it. Don't get me wrong, I love the Vettes, but the Fiero offers more "usable" performance on the street.

Drifting
I've owned four Fieros, worked on countless ones, and have been a part of the Fiero community for around 20 years or so now.
My last Fiero, an '86 GT with the five speed Getrag. This car had nearly 300,000 miles on it at the time of these pictures.
My '88 Formula I owned at the same time.
I've also owned an '84 and '87 four cylinder cars.
I can tell you this regardless of if people want to believe it or not; Fieros get some of the most attention of ANY car. I can't even begin to recite how many times people would just randomly come up to me or follow me or just ask "what is that you're driving?" Especially with my GT with the fastback styling. If you're the type person that likes to have a lot of random attention, a Fiero will give that attention. You also get a ton of "catching on fire" stories and the like, but most everyone who would talk to me was mostly positive. I don't get anywhere near the same amount of attention in my C5.
Also as mentioned they're exceptionally fun to drive. They're like really large go-karts on steroids. I've worked on a few 3800 supercharged and 3.4L swaps and the 3800 in particular really makes the car magic. I personally loved my '88 Formula. All the suspension upgrades for '88 really improve the car's potential. It's just unfortunate it was killed off the same year.
I'm wanting to eventually get an '85 model of some sort so I can say I've owned every year they were made.

daughter s first car
I had a great friend that happened to sell Chevys Pontiac ,GMCs.
My daughter wanted a bright red Fiero so we went and to see ''Buzzy" my car guy and called ahead for a test drive .....
We were amazed not to see one in the detail section so we had Buzzy
paged ....He came form out back ad said straight up ..THERE IS NO WAY I WOULD LET A FRIEND BUY ONE OF THOSE TOILETS .When the write ups came out we were impressed and put her in a 4x4 small Blazer .
Buzz passed away shortly after that ...he was a solid friend .

juiceman we get it your buddy hated fieros, you didn't need to yell it,
I am sorry you lost a buddy and sorry he was obviously very wrong in his opinion on fieros.
