Pre-purchase inspection cost for classic - $1000?
I want to get an inspection of a 1969 Bonneville Convertible (nothing fancy) in Russells Point, Ohio, but I'm getting some wild prices.
To wit:
"Cost would be $825 + $250 numbers matching service....$1075. Appraisal can be added for an additional $75."
So $1150. Sounds thorough enough, but I'm not buying a Hemi Cuda here. Is this par for the course on inspections now, or how do I go about finding someone knowledgeable who'll charge me a couple of hundred bucks an hour (only)?
$1150 seems like a lot of the afternoon, unless it's one of Delorean's kids.
Or am I just out of touch? If not, any recommendations in the area?
