6.0 with rough idol
i have a 6.0 in a 2001 chevrolet ck2500.
about 110k
rough idol. i can put my hand on the engine and it wants to stumble a bit every 2-5 seconds part. if looking at the tail pipe i can see it shake when it wants to stumble.
i replaced plugs and wires a couple years back. i think i put acdelco plugs in. I dont remember if i checked the gaps.???
Someone mentioned i should have put in NGK...but idk
Where should i start to investigate?

You need to run a scan/log to find out your problem otherwise you will only be chasing symptoms and not the problem. It could be anything from dripping injectors to faulty decaying O2 sensors. Since we do not know where you live, a forum member who has the proper software cannot help you out. You might check with a local tuner who has the ability to run a good 15-40 minute scan--depending upon the refresh rate.

if i had to guess, its bad o2 sensor. your right thought, not sure i want to start throwing parts at it.

Some times Rough idol can be caused be a dirty TB and or MAF sensor.. Try cleaning them if you have not yet..I think bad o2's would send a code!!

I agree if you have NO check engine lite which would indicate a misfire--the only other things that would cause a rough idle are:
1 if you have a cold air intake using an oiled air filter---almost always the filter is over oiled and the MAF meter will become fouled by this oil and stay that way until you clean the MAF with brake clean
2. Assuming that you have a 2001 model it has a cable throttle--- which means it has an IAC " intake air control" valve A DBW throttle does not have ab IAC
Typically if you have never cleaned your T-Body in several years or if ever---The IAC port become plugged with carbon which makes it idle/start/die horribly
Try removing the entire air tube all the way to the T-Body then spray the T-body conpletely and clean it Hold the throttle blade wide open and clean it again as far as you can go into it-----
Also the IAC port that clogs ---is on the upper passenger side of the engine in the T-body Douse this port thorougbouthly several time with the blade Wide open
After all this cleaning and spraying let sit for about 15 mins to let the cleaner dry---It still will be hard to start but it will clean up and should idle smoothly

ok so i'm back at trying to figure this out.
took to the mechanic he couldn't figure it out yet whats causing it.
random misfires on random cylinders. fuel pressure and trim levels are good.
relearned the crank shaft sensor.
any ideas?
I do have a "manual" throttle i believe. I'm going to look for the IAC tomorrow.

Moving this over to the Other Cars section as this really doesn't pertain to a C5. Good luck in getting your problem fixed.
