Looking to trade up to an exotic car
Cars I drove this week 2016 amg gts,2 different 2016 911 turbo s,2017 Audi r8 v10 plus and McLaren 570s.
Long story I'll make it short I didn't like the amg or the 911 turbo s, much more money for not much of anything.
The R8 and McLaren are miles and money ahead of the Z06
In feel and looks they both feel like a crotch rocket! Anyway the Z06 is and always will be the best car for the money...........

never spent so much on a car before the McLaren is used with only 2500 miles that might be my best bet not to take a beating if I want to ever sell it!
The point I was trying to make is ever since I could drive I always wanted more power and I think we came to a point with the Z06 that nothing really feels more powerful...if the Z06 lost some weight it would be the greatest sports car ever!!!!
Lol exactly what the McLaren dealership said about the Ferrari!

AMG GTS is ugly and I say that as a huge AMG fan that still owns an SL55. The Audi R8 is also sorely lacking in the looks department. It may be a couple tenths faster to 60 than the Z06, but I'd still take my Vette over it any day. I'll admit the McLaren is more exotic looking, but given the quality of them I wouldn't touch one with a 10 foot pole. Honestly the only non-hypercars I'd rather have than my Z06 are a Ferrari F12 or 488.

One particular quality I missed was the driver connection/engagement that comes with a manual transmission, one of the reasons I'm "holding my breath" for a new ZR1. If the ZR1 doesn't satisfy, then maybe a manual '18 GT3... who knows.
And wow, such great choices for sports cars! Let's hope the great sports cars continue to evolve, otherwise the "best" will be a historical debate.
Hope you find an exotic that satisfies your desires.

I would imagine the maintenance cost for a McLaren must be ridiculous just to get an oil change. Exclusivity has a price but it would sure be nice to have a car you don't see every day.

McLaren announced a four grand a year warranty for up to a decade...I think that would be smart for the entire time of ownership.
The 12c has been dealt a huge depreciation loss and they can be screaming deals. That said I would suggest the additional warranty cost to keep costs under control.
I believe the 570 will be more manageable in running expenses.
Honestly the performance the corvette offers along with ridiculously low running costs are a huge attraction for many.
The Audi R8 is cool and probably has manageable running costs...
Rear mid engine exotics are fun...and ferraris 430 is quite affordable these days but rides a little rough...the 456 and 488 resolved the rough ride ..
Shouldn't be too long until the c8 releases and you will have an exotic car look and performance with corvette like running costs..
When GM makes a supercar corvette like the zr1 or z06....even the grand sport or z51 really offer amazing performance surpassing many supercars on the track....with running costs of a Malibu...
Change the oil for a hundred bucks, add gas and tires and go...
To me that's one of the biggest pluses of corvettes...
