Default Video - Stock Fiero upgrade to Supercharged 3800!

Take a quick look at how the Fiero should have left the factory. Upgraded from the 92 HP 4 cylinder to a fire breathing Supercharged Series 2 3800 V6 on E-85 brings performance up to 3.7 zero to 60 times and high 11 second quarter mile times.

I've seen some cool swaps in fieros. Northstars and LS5s are my favorite.

With 300+ hp in that car, I'd want some upgraded brakes and suspension to go with it, but that's just me. If you can do sub 4 0-60, in my opinion you better be able to stop from that in a very short distance too.

I have a 86 V6/4spd, I will say that it might be one of the few cars that I have ever driven that does not really need more power. Don't get me wrong, an extra 50 or so HP would be nice, but the car is just so much fun as it is. Most of the bigger engine swaps that I have seen also necessitate the use of an automatic trans, which really kills all the fun in a car this small and fun in the twisties.

That's a nice swap, but I think I would want at least upgrade the brakes.

I don't see too many Fieros at any of the car events around my area.

Agreed. In practice, the brakes stop the car well from higher speeds once, the small rotor lacks heat dissipation ability/capacity to make several long aggressive stops in a row though as you would encounter in road racing. Shuts down from 114 in the 1/4 mile at the track well.

Cool!!!
I have a 59k mile 89 z24 I often thought about having someone put a 3.8sc in.
A North star would be awesome but would probably blow a head gasket on me lol!

Fieros were nice little toys back in the day. I always though the dohc four GM used to make would have been the engine of choice. Never happened ..

How about a turbocharged cobalt as motor and manual transmission...

If I remember that was a transaxle fwd layout...

Probably not worth the time and energy but I'd imagine the Saturn ion turbo motor would fit as well since it was the same as the cobalt ss?

I believe the styling of the fiero has aged well...

I re,e,her they first came out around 1984 and I think first year sales were 100k units.

The media panned the steering and handling but it sure did look slick back in the mid 1980s when it release...

It's chassis build was unique and all the panels screwed on...should have been an iconic kit car foundation...

Never really did catch on as a kit car foundation and the vehicle was killed off by the end of 1988 when they redid the suspension to give the vehicle nice steering and handling...

I enjoyed test driving a GT fastback model years down the road...it was a fun little car to drive...

All good points and I remember 1984 well as I was 15years old when I saw my first Fiero. I was fixing up a VW bug at the time and at that moment, the Fiero looked like a lamborghini to me..... The best part to me is you can make an 11 second car for just a few grand that hooks like a beast and easily blows away a LOT of Mustangs, Camaros and Mopars. I love my C5 for sure, but the Fiero has a place in my garage. Building is half the fun too!
