Absolutely nothing wrong with mustangs. I've had 2 saleens and a GT. If I hadn't had the itch for a new Z06 I'd have bought the new GT350. It's a bad *** car in the twisties as well as straight line.

Definitely a nice looking car. I was checking out the shelby gt350 and gt350R specs and prices. I found the following article in my reading :

http://jalopnik.com/shelby-gt350-mus...ing-1793541621

It seems no matter which performance bargain you go for there will be issues.

Price aside, and not counting those people that absolutely need a back seat, I still think 8/10, maybe 9/10 people would still choose a new Corvette over a new Mustang GT.

Oh when you get into the Corvette it is still better looking and has more goodies inside than his GT350

I think that this entire thing is a matter of apples and oranges. The Mustang is a "Pony" car and the Corvette is something entirely different. Both cars are amazing, I happen to be a Corvette guy, but if I had the money to spend, I would love to own a 1968 Mustang Fastback, one of the most beautiful cars ever built, IMHO!!!!

If at least the Stingray had the A10 transmission from the new ZL1, I think that would make a big difference on performance

Lots of gravel left over from winters where i live so I will always choose the vette as it is a huge plus to not have to deal with this unsightly crap.

I wouldn't bet against the mustang in the twisties these days either. Car is a totally different beast compared to what we always thought they were.
I just sold my 98 vert for a special order 2017 mustang gt premium. Black with the black accent package and auto. I liked my vette very much but I can honestly say that the new mustang is 10 times the car the vette was. Power is unbelievable and the comfort level is amazing. The mode switch for driving modes is fun, sport mode is awesome.

exactly. go the the c5 gen forum and listen to them tho. I do like the c7's but my pocket book would not allow for that. I'm sure no comparison in that department, I was just meaning the c5's. That's a whole nother breed there. No offense given at all either, just the attitude.

I went from a Coyote Mustang just before the S550's came out ('15+) to a 2003 Z06. I've always had a long standing dislike for them since they're a dime a dozen and you can rest assured you can find some asshat driving one like they're the fastest thing on the road. I had never had a V8 performance car before that Coyote so I was persuaded by the exhaust note and response. But it wasn't that much fun to drive and never really turned on even when I got on it, after I got over the initial power trip.

The C5 has a plain dated interior, but handling wise feels incredibly planted and aesthetically it's no contest. Could've gone from a C5 to a C5Z or an LS3 C6 for a lot less and had a lot more, unless interior aesthetics mean that much to you (In which case, I'd go for a Porsche). Ford still slaps those made in China manual trannys in them unless you go for the GT350, never did sit right with me on such an integral component of the car.

I'm in the right age group for a Mustang, but their owners are just the worst. For laughs one time I got on it next to a Coyote when I had my previous daily which was a V6 Accord manual (there's a sleeper ). I knew I was no chance but Mustang drivers are so easily provoked so hard to resist. After I let off at about 85 he proceeded to go at least 130+ mph and just maintaining that speed down the expressway until I couldn't see him anymore. He sure showed me in my 240 HP sedan...

Is that a stock Mustang GT at the gas pump next to me that no one is paying attention to, while I get compliments on my C7?

I have owned two. They weren't bad cars but man did I take a beating on resale when I was done with them.

Pretty much sums it up.

...and the same thing new Mustang guys say about the old rusted P.O.S that just annihilated them at the drag strip.

What I've learned over the last few years of owning a corvette and now a mustang is, everyone has their own opinion on what is the best for them and some think that should pertain to others. My thoughts are that the majority of the cars now a days are very functional, fun, and down right great automobiles. Fast, fun, great looks and a variety of colors. you have your faithful vette crowd, your faithful mustang crowd and so on and so on. I'm just very happy to be able to have had the wonderful cars in my life as I have. 1966 GTO, 1974 Nova SS, 1974 Challenger is some of the cars I've had so I've played the field. We all have great cars and again i'm just thankful I can still get out and have as much fun in my new addition that I can. Drive on all

New Mustangs are great cars but there's no way it can keep up with a C7 on the track...ZERO.
