Default DD question

I'm considering buying a 2017 leftover Acadia which seems like a good deal however after reading reviews I'm getting a little scared to pull the trigger! I have been test driving many SUVs over the last few weeks from Jeeps and fords to Porsches at the end of the day today I thought I had made up my mind to move forward with the Acadia until I mentioned it to a friend who told me to read some reviews about excessive oil burn. After doing just a little research I have heard nothing but horror stories. I figured being everyone here is a GM fan maybe I could get a better picture as to the quality and reliability of this vehicle.
Any and all input welcome good bad or otherwise.

I really like this truck but don't need a money pit.

I bought a new Yukon Denali just over 2 years ago..... read all of these "horror" stories about buffeting/vibrations. Took the new truck for a nice long test drive plus had a good friend who had one with over 20K miles on it with no issues. Ended up buying and have been nothing but happy. Since I have purchased mine, I know at least 10 other people who have new Tahoes, Suburbans, Yukons and Escalades...... not a single one with an issue. If you were to trust what you read online you would think every single unit is a lemon.

I pulled the trigger a couple of hours ago. I'm picking it up Friday. I spoke to a few friends that have them and are happy one does have an issue burning about 2 quarts of oil every 3000 miles this has been happening since new GM says this is normal and wont do anything about it? This said he still loves the truck!

I'm getting a 2017 leftover Acadia limited which is loaded the same as a Denali very nice. I'm turning in my lease three months early at no charge and they're are giving me 20% off plus and additional $1600 to make the deal to good to pass on. I hope I'm still happy in a few years. I don't put many miles on this car while I called it a DD I drive a Sprinter van 95% of the time the other 5% is spit between this new truck my Corvette and my wife's car. My current lease only has about 12k in 21 months. I'm hoping the new truck will last a long time this is why I bought it not leased this time.

My wife's 1st SGT has 2 of them (him and his wife)........ he's got a bunch of miles on his and it's been flawless. No issues with hers either. Our neighbors/friends have one that has also been trouble free. Forgot to mention this in my earlier post but I was addressing the whole "internet/online" doom and gloom.

I have a 2012 Acadia with 80k miles and zero issues. It's a company car and I beat on it. Keeps going and has been great.

My wife drives a 15 Traverse (the Arcadia's cheaper cousin) and has 70k trouble free miles on it. Oil changes every 5k, tires and brakes at 65k, that has been it. I have never had to add one drop of oil to the engine at all.

Thanks for all the reassuring info! I spoke to a few people yesterday and all of them were very happy with their cars so I moved forward I believe I got a good deal I should be picking it up tomorrow maybe Saturday I'm not in a rush this is an extra car replacing an extra car that I will be turning in.
I do like all the features the car comes with I'm sure I will enjoy driving it and may end up using it more then I plan just because it is far more comfortable then driving my Sprinter van every day!

I had them add a hitch a stripe and ceramic coating so I'm picking the car up tomorrow starting to get a little excited. I suspect I will really enjoy this car, now I'm thinking about ordering the weathertech floor liners and cargo mat has anyone here bought these and are you happy you did?

I purchased the full set of weathertech mats for my Yukon Denali, they are a "must have" accessory.

I just found GMC makes liners just like the weathertech ones I think I will have them add them to my purchase tomorrow this way I don't to pay $400 in one shot. It is going to be an expensive month as it is!

One note about towing, if you did not get the factory installed towing package the towing capacity is very limited. On our Traverse it is something like 2,500#.

I don't really plan to tow much more then a jetski or a dinghy maybe a U haul trailer a few times. My boat is 28000 lbs dry so that's out of the question. I was told it had a hitch behind a cover I questioned this several times and I was assured it was there after I signed the deal I found out it did'nt have a hitch so they are installing it for free being it was their mistake I really don't have a huge need but I'm sure it will get some use as have most cars/trucks I have owned in the past. I think they claim 5200 lbs for the Acaida I will never come close! This said thank you for the heads up it's good to keep in mind! BTW they are including the correct cover to hide the hitch when not in use I have nothing but good things to say about this dealership I have bought several cars from them in the past including my last Corvette which was a used 09 C6.

The 5,200# rating is only with the factory towing package, which is more than the just the hitch. I think it includes extra cooling among other things. If you are just are going to tow the skis you should be OK, but I would not try anything much heavier. Good luck and enjoy it !

I will not have the heavy duty cooling system but I don't plan any long haul and certainly no heavy hauling so I'm sure I will be fine. I have towed small boats and jetskis for many years without issue on much lighter weight vehicles then this. I have a 2500 Sprinter van I can always put a hitch on that as well if need be but I don't think it will ever come to this. I'm looking forward to picking up the new car tomorrow even if I won't put many miles on it until next weekend BTW it looks like you were right it seems to only be rated for 4000 lbs this said my last jetski was only about 600 lbs and the trailer was maybe 150 lbs I think I would be hard press to hit 2000 lbs with anything I might haul.

My old SUV is parked next to my new one I had them add a pinstripe to break up the all white truck. They did everything I asked and then some I haven't driven it more the 2 miles yet but I may use it tomorrow I have a light day and don't need my van for work. I will take a few pictures once the weather clears up a little.
