The tests I read do say the car gets unbalanced and begins to fray at the limits, they also go onto read that it's not really on par with some of the luxury competitors from a material and interior noise level standpoint. At $60K it's not a bargain and isn't likely going to get people to leave Audi, BMW and Benz. You can get a very loaded up S4/S5 sportback for that kind of money!!! I love the direction that Kia and Hyundai are moving, their cars have improved tremendously!! Competition always puts the consumer in a better position.
where did you hear/read about these numbers? I've seen 4.7 to 60 but not 4.4 or 12.9. That's where my Infiniti red sport 400 comes in at and still a better choice to me than a Kia

Loaded Stinger at $25-$30k and they won't be able to build them fast enough.

Its a nice car, but I, myself, could never spend $50,000 on a KIA.

Truth. Even $40k is too much. The discounts will be tremendous, and the resale value will be crap.

I respect Randy and his opinions. Doug however, well he's just an idiot with a following of people who think he's smart and so they Andre by extension. He is to blame for a handful of older cars having their prices skyrocket as idiots think they're smart by buying them. The reality is, they'e still dumb by spending more for unreliable cars that are slower than what they could have bought instead.

You heard it here - people buying a v8 vantage over a c5 or c6 because Doug did are idiots.

Here is the C/D test I got my numbers from. I think R/T got a 4.6 and 13.0 on their test. The couple of tests I have read do show fairly consistent numbers.

I saw one of these in person and found it to be extremely easy to look at.

If I got one, first thing I would do is find the KDM badges and rip every last Kia logo off to be replaced with these.

These have been out for awhile and still haven't seen one on the road. Anyone have a friend who owns one? Updates?

Actually since I started this thread I've seen quite a few. Last month I was on the highway and got passed by a white GT2 that was following a truck towing a C7 Z06, which has been my most up-close moving visual. Otherwise they've passed me going the other way (they're very easy to mistake for the Optima at first glance).

I also passed by one of the local dealers on a Sunday and just looked at what they had. Was impressed with what I saw.

If people can settle for the four cylinder turbo version KIA has some crazy deals on them. I have a dealer that has two at $31K which is well below their MSRP. They're of course fairly low trim and both either silver or black. KIA is also offering 0.9% APR for buyers on all Stingers through their KIA financing division.

I test drove Kia Stinger GT2's on two occasions, when my "bum back" was feeling good.

I loved the Stinger's looks, power, handling, warranty and was ready to order. So, on a "bad" back day, I took my wife to drive a Stinger, to be sure she would like driving it.

Well, the seats firmness and bolstering, the (relatively )rough ride (on "Comfort" suspension setting) and low driving position, left my back aching! No Stinger (or other sporty car) for me.

Stinger is getting great reviews, however, approx. 40 % of the folks on the Kia stinger owners forum, report rattling rear hatch, on bumps. Despite 2 factory TSB's, the problem is not solved. This is NOT good.

Stinger starts at $31k and the GT2 starts at $49k (GT2 base price is fully loaded). The GT model (V6TT) engine is available at $36k. It seems to be priced right for this segment, headed by BMW M's ex, looks good, but still wears a KIA badge.

A fully loaded GT (drive wise package; LSD; remote start) is $41k.

For reference, base price of similar competitors, 6 cylinder turbo:
C43 AMG - $54k
430i - $49k
IS 350 - $42k
ATS - $35.5k

Just traded in my 2005 Vette coupe for GT2 AWD fully loaded. However, was never really a Vette guy, just bought one because Datsun/Nissan didn't make 280 Z anymore. 280z 2+2 the best car I ever owned. Couldn't get my 6'4" into a 350Z so Vette was a compromise. However, fell in love with HUD on Vette.

The Stinger GT2 makes me feel like I am back in my 280Z It's also like flying a jet fighter, the HUD shows speed and lot's more but it also shows the blind side radar in the HUD (bogie at 8 o'clock) , not to mention snap back head acceleration in launch mode. Takes curves on rails handling. The 114" wheelbase makes it longer than my Vette and the road feel is..well a lot like my 280 2+2 Z Saw some conversation about former BMW and Audi owners buying Stingers and how the common folks dealerships were a huge awakening, well my Vette is a Chevrolet so didn't have dealer shock.

With the 10 year powertrain warranty, and extended bumper to bumper 10 years, can just relax and enjoy.

But will stay with forum because that's where the great information is

Thanks for sharing that link -- helpful info. I daily a 2014 SS and love it, but have often thought about the Kia Stinger as a future alternative. I'm keeping my eye on how it goes with the Stinger for Kia.
