Decided to buy a 2013 Porsche 911 over a 2017 C7 GrandSport

50 year old design is boring. It doesn’t do anything for me. You got to admit it looks just like this -> 🐸🐸🐸. Chevy’s Corvette has had seen real innovative designs over the years. The C7 may very be their best design ever and who knows what’s in store with the C8? Now this is what I call excitement. 911...Yuck.

Before you put any money down on another drab, outdated design, do yourself a favor and go visit a McLaren dealership. Their cars are a lot more exciting that the Porsche and you may even save yourself a few dollars to boot. Thier cars are faster too if that matters to you. Their level of service to their customers is off the carts good.
I am certain the base model 570 is a less expense than the 911. It will eat a Z06 or 911 on the track. It’s a beast and they paint the use is off the charts. You owe it to yourself and go take look at thier line. You should be able to come up with a solution to stuff the baby inside.

I think they call it newb syndrome......He's giving the Vette a technological advantage over a Porsche...
Funny I recall seeing a test where they used launch control on a Porsche all day long a few years ago when it first came and it never failed....over and over launch after launch. Some peeps have trouble on the track with limp mode with the techno savvy vette after two laps.

I would not put a rear facing car seat in a corvette. Can do front facing with airbag off which means a 2-3 year old size child.Congrats on the 911!

Jesus I wish I even had the remote ability to "get bored" over a 6 Series.
Enjoy the 911. You honestly probably made a better purchasing decision anyways. A 911 will always have a good sale market simply because of the versatility aspect that you've already figured out; a buyer can argue to the significant other "But honey, it can baby just fine!"

As per your request I've posted a pic of the baby seat mounted in the back.
I gotta say it's a tight squeeze but it fits. Anyone sitting in the front passenger seat would need to be comfortable with the seat moved all the way up and the back sitting at a 90 degree angle. That being said I never intend to have a passenger in the car when I'm dropping my son off or picking him up for daycare. For family outings we have a 2016 Yukon Denali with more space than my old college dorm room.
The GrandSport I was considering purchasing would have been a 2nd C7 for me so I'm very familiar with the C7. For long trips the C7 is definitely a more comfortable car and the tech in a C7 is far superior. That being said that 911 drives like its on rails. It's really responsive and loads of fun to drive at high RPM's. Loving the purchase so far !

Nice thanks. Congrats again on the car - what are the specs? Would you mind also posting a profile view picture to show how you had to orient the front passenger seat to clear?

My 911 is a 7 speed manual. The options are as follows: sunroof, Porsche emblems in headrests, colored crest center caps, dynamic lighting package, Nav, heated steering wheel, premium package plus, black basalt metallic paint

Well I picked up the 911 on Wednesday. I drove my BMW 640i Gran Coupe to Dallas from our home in San Antonio and traded it in and drove the 911 home.

Not true. I just sold my 911 because my kids had grown out of the back seat at ages 10 and 13.
OK, in fairness the oldest (girl) probably grew out of the space by 11.
But if you have an infant, you have many years to go before the back seat of a 911 becomes inhospitable. I can't think of another sports car that combines fun and practicality more than a 911.

Should workout fine as three to five years of ownership and the current vehicle sounds like it will be traded in for a new vehicle.
By then electric sports cars will probably all the rage with a pancaked battery pack for an even lower center of gravity and a zero to sixty in 2.5 seconds..(kidding)
For right now the 911 sounds like a new dad s sports car ...
Congrats on the cool 911!

Congrats! Great car. I am a former P car owner, in fact I almost bought a 911 last February. It was between a 996 Turbo or a Z06, and the Z06 won out. Honestly, I would have taken either, it all came down to when "The One" crossed my path, and I found a Z06 that I just couldn't pass up.
It is really refreshing to see all the props being given from Corvette guys to a comrade who bought a 911. After spending much time on the Porsche forums, I can say that if a P-car guy went on a Porsche forum and shared that he bought a Corvette over a 911, it would be a complete and utter bash fest. I don't miss those forums at all.
Congrats and enjoy the ride!
