Porsche 911 power to the pavement
Why is the 911 base and other versions so good at 1/4 mile and acceleration? I can see how the engine location typically is better for 0-60, but have seen comments about the latest versions like "It feels like and all wheel drive car". I'm a Corvette guy and have never driven one.

The real advantage is how they come out of a corner. The amount of rear end grip they have in hands of ac skilled driver is nuts. Hit the gas, and all the weight of the engine and weight transfer gives you mega corner exit grip.

its not just the turbo ones that are so fast off the line....the 991 GT3's are as well...Porsche rated them as 0-60 in 3.3 when mags and many reg owners have achieved it in as little as 3.1
rear engine weight and very balanced car...easy to launch...and a PDK-as mentioned shifts are blistering fast and precise
