Seems like Ford customer service can suck sometimes, too.
And, to top it off, there's a recall on some F150s with the A10 for unintended movement because of a defective pin in the linkage.

Chevy's customer service is not much better (if it is even better).

Did I take a wrong turn into a Ford forum?

I have the A10 in my 17 Raptor. I love the truck and haven't had any issues after 17k miles. However I personally feel 10 gears is a bit unnecessary. The gearing is just way to close and shifts a bit too much especially in traffic when it's stop and go. A lot of time I go to manual mode just to avoid it. I can't imagine it in the Camaro. It must be for their CAFE requirements.

We rented 2 new Escalade ESV's back in February for a trip a group of us took out to Vail. From Denver International up the mountain I found the 10 speed to be seamless, was also nice to have some extra cogs when using engine braking on the trip back down. I have a 2015 Denali with the 8 speed that I just drove out to Copper mountain 2 weeks ago. I find the 10 speed to be smoother shifting and also a bit advantageous in the fuel economy department. As far as actual acceleration performance, didn't notice much difference.

Wife drives a 2017 Expedition with the 6 speed 3.5 ecoboost. I drive a 2017 F150 with same engine and the A10. I much prefer the 6 speed. Even though the 10 shifts smooth it tends to get into high gear to early and then the driveline vibrates. the A10 is better for an extra 2 mpg and is quicker overall. But the 6 speed rocks.

Technically an overdrive gear is anything less than a 1:1 ratio. The ability to keep the ratios close it what makes them perform better from an acceleration and economy standpoint. While I know this thread is originally about the A10 in the F-150, here is an article from GM showing the side by side difference between the A8 and A10. It's an interesting read.

The A10 is awesome. Best torque converter transmission out there.
Very impressive even with a few early issues as discussed.
This is a technical marvel by GM...and Ford..
The camaro zL1 with the ten speed is an amazing achievement
