Sawzall + Car
Ok, it's not a Corvette (thank God) but it's the weekend and I needed quarter panels for a rare 2+2 I'm working on so I harvested what I could off this Catalina, the closest low-rust car I'll find. Thought you might find it entertaining for a Sunday morning...
I do everything but body work and automatic transmissions on my own, so it was a bit of an adventure, especially down the quarters join the rockers. I had no idea what we were doing other than I needed quarter panels and I own a saw!
Went through 10 sawzall blades before I learned that there are "Demolition" blades that are much thicker and stronger, so I grabbed a pack of those and never broke another.
The video is my brother helping out, not me!
This car is a little spooky. It came off the road in 1996 for no apparent reason except the front interior is all covered in black sticky stuff and the front carpet is cut out. If it smelled weird I'd be afraid....
