Yes, I really like the exterior. The deal breaker for me with the Camaros is visibility from the driver's seat... or lack thereof. The hood blocks most of the view forward, the little slit door windows block the view to the sides, and the back? Fugggetttabouddddit. You need to be an instrument rated pilot to fly a Camaro on a sunny day.

It's still a Camaro just a faster version.

Definitely a performer, but will never have the looks of the C7.
Topics like this always come up on this forum and I always try and explain something. Part of the reason your paying for the Vette is its looks and overall design. I personally could never buy a car just because of its performance unless I absolutely loved the way it looks, example ( the GTR) it's huge, bulky and hideous to me. Even if it could outperform my Z51, it has nothing that appeals to me.

Excuse me I thought we talked about second cars we are considering all the time on this forum. Ferrari’s, Porsche’s, etc. Hope I didn’t ruin your day. I like to get input from other vette owners. Still love my Grand Sport!

Safety Car
As a couple of others have said, the visibility is a problem for most. I am a long-time Vette owner, but had recently sold one of them, and was looking for my next car.
Went and drove an A10 ZL1... to see what all the hoopla was about, and I was going to seriously consider it. I'd seen a couple up close at a local car meet and it appeared to be a much improved car than other recent offerings. While everything performed as advertised, I felt like I would never be able to drive the car "enthusiastically" very well because I struggled to get used to, what I felt like, was poor visibility. My test drive was during the daytime, as well.
if it was going to be my DD, and I would put 10k miles on it a year, my educated guess is that I'd learn around the visibility issues to the point that I'd get much more comfortable and it would become a relative non-issue. However, this vehicle would probably garner 1500-2000 miles a year max, and if I couldn't really enjoy its potential when I drove then... then why buy it?
So I found a 478 mile, next-to-new, C6 ZR1 and it was the _right_ car for me... and I paid about the same as a new ZL1.

I like them but I went the GT350 route instead.
