Default F80 BMW M3..... Who's got one/previously owned one????

I've been contemplating moving from my current B8.5 2013 Audi S4 into an F80 BMW M3. I hate to give up the Quattro AWD of the S4 in the Chicagoland area (which I put winter wheels/Blizzaks on for winter months) but I have my Yukon Denali that I can drive when the snow is heavy and still run dedicated winters on the M3. Like the numbers on paper and the car is definitely appealing in the looks department. I'm eyeballing low mile 2017 certified cars, will be going with the DCT trans as my wife will occasionally drive it. Looking for input on overall real world experience, must have options, complaints, compliments, etc...... Thanks!!!!!

I have been contemplating condensing from 2 cars (including getting rid of my corvette) and the two options on top of that list are the M2/M3.. I also live in the Chicago-land area so I will anxiously await feedback from the rest of the community?

Just out of curiosity; are you looking at competition models? what does a 1 ~ 2yo CPO car go for these days? THe M3 at $78 and change is outside of my comfort zone and 3yo models seem to be less expensive than a new M2 ($58 ~ $60k)

Since you are amenable to a RWD model, I'd take a look at the 2019 M2 Competition as well. The M2's appear to hold their value far better than M3/4's. I ordered a 2019 M2 Comp for delivery in October.

I'm open on the model but the few cars I have seen listed online have been $60-65K.

M2 is an awesome car but it's just too small....... The M3 is about the same size as my S4 and I cannot go into a smaller vehicle. I'm also keeping my eye on S6's as some additional space wouldn't hurt and it's AWD. I need to get out and drive the M3.

I had a 16 M3 and it was a fantastic car. Only reason I got rid of it is I got a Z06. Had I needed a back seat I'd have kept it. A far more practical car than any Corvette. Only thing I didn't care for was the exhaust sound. They are plenty fast for a street car and the DCT is awesome. I suggest you get the executive package and the Napa leather as they add a lot to the interior.

Did you use the M3 everyday? Do you use the Z06 every day? Do you deal with snow?

I owned a 15 F80 M3 6-speed that sold for my C6Z. Honestly it was an awesome car with incredible style and power. I am looking to get back into an F82 or a GT-R but you should for sure own one if you never have before. They respond incredibly well to basic bolt ins and a tune. They are no joke.
