Want to buy my company car
Which is leased through Enterprise. 2015 Ford Escape, 94k miles, needs brakes, windshield, slight transmission shifting issues and 3k in hail damage. NADA rough trade in is $8800.00.
Enterprise will just dump it at the Manheim auction and I'd like to know what you guys feel it would bring at auction as my starting offer would be 15 to 20% below auction price.
What would it bring at auction?

if it is a lease, get written permission from your company the right to purchase, then deal with Enterprise. they should accept an offer instead of risking a huge loss at auction

Is it AWD and what level trim?
I'd go at 4500 but wouldn't want that car personally.

I would offer less, what do you have to lose. Offer $4,000, its either yes or know. Do they know of problems with car? They're not stupid, they probably already have an idea what they will get. Remember for them, its a write off.

OP why do you want the vehicle? I see newer Fords dumped at the local auction by a large Ford dealer all the time, so that should be a sign.
Have you priced transmissions? Add up all the repairs and reconditioning and go out and buy yourself a solid vehicle.

Its an AWD SE model. Basic transportation. I have a 2001 F350, crew cab truck with original 30k miles which is not a good daily driver. 16 Z06 not good for winter driving and a couple classics. I was a field rep and now my job has changed with my company and I work from home 100% of the time and no field work and I need a daily driver.
I would think a good transmission flush would cure the minimal transmission issue. I personally think the car would bring 6k at Manheim auction. What do you guys feel it would bring? I would like to offer Enterprise about 20% below auction price and need a base line figure to start my negotiations.

Just curious, does anyone know of a single case where a transmission was cured by a fluid change?

Like UD said, with all the Fords out there for sale why are you so attached to a big turd? The sum of the problems will for sure exceed the value.

Thanks, man! I really appreciate this. I need this car because it should be cheap, I know the car and I have no bills at all other than my house.
