Default The Corvette Killer from FORD?

This is one badass ride and could be a huge competitor to the C8 in that FORD hasn't had a car in the vette price range. I think the potential market for a car like this with FORD buyers has the potential to be huge.

What say you?

I'll believe it when I see one at the dealers.

If Ford were to make it that might be different, but an overpriced kit car isn't going to make a real impression on the marketplace.

This is one hell of a long ways from a "kit car".

Superformance’s Ford Shelby GR-1 Generates the Most Demand in Company History

The plan is a supercharged V-8,” Stander told Robb Report. “It sadly won’t be a V-10. Ford doesn’t have a V-10 apart from one they utilize in trucks, and we want the GR-1 to be a production car with a production engine—all coming from Ford.” A supercharged Ford V-8? Sounds suspiciously like the engine from the new Mustang Shelby GT500. “You’re thinking on the right track,” Stander laughed. While Ford’s been tight-lipped about the actual power specs from that mill, everyone can agree that the horsepower will be well north of 700, so that’s a bright spot.

I suspect it will be closer to a kit car than a production car. Unless SuperPerformance is planning on sending this for emissions certifications, crash testing, etc. This will still be a low volume car built under the kit car exemption laws that were passed a few years back.

Also, I believe a Super Performance cobra is around $75 to $100k delivered so this car will likely be in the Z06/ZR1 price category.
