Chevy SS?
Looking to purchase a Chevy SS sometime in the near future, not in any rush at all as it will not be my daily driver. Leaning toward a manual if I can find one but would not be opposed to an auto. Any issues that I should be aware of? Dislikes? Thanks in advance for your response.

I have a 2017 SS and it’s one of the most fun cars I’ve owned. Mine is an auto, manuals are hard to find and many of the third pedal cars are pulling some strong resale numbers. They only made the SS for three years. 2014 was only Auto, following Year the 6spd came out along with magnetic ride. 2016/2017 added the bimodal exhaust. Any questions feel free to ask. Every week someone asks me questions about this car. My car is a daily driver as some don’t drive them others are being modded.

I have a 2017 SS, auto, one of the most trouble free new cars I've owned. I had a 2016 SS with a manual transmission also, good car as well but sold it during a weak moment, thankfully was able to find and buy a 2017 before they were discontinued. GM really screwed up by not promoting this car, one of the best driving cars I've owned. Would probably be the last vehicle I would get rid of now!

I bought one in Nov 17 when they were 20% off. Drove it over 5,000 miles. Never had one thing go wrong with the car. It kicked some serious *** and shocked a lot of people on the road. Drew a crowd when it was parked. Best stock exhaust of any car I ever owned. One day I listed it for sale at a price higher than what I paid for and got a buyer so it went to a new owner.

22k miles on it and so far oil changes only. Love remote starting it and watching people turn their heads wondering what the hell is that? Traded my 14 Audi S6 for the car and so many of my friends thought I was nuts.... until they rode in the car. It’s no where as refined as an S6 but it’s way more fun. I live in NJ and had to drive to Maryland to find one. Got this the last day of 20% off too! I’ll probably keep it for another year maybe two and possibly go for CTS-V. I had a 2012 V before the Audi and must say if I threw a supercharger on the SS it would remind me of the prior Gen V. I feel the SS is better balanced than the prior Gen V and has way more room too. I wish GM would’ve shipped everything over from Australia and built these Holden Commodores over here. I’m surprised you sold yours snowolfe! My car is black and all stock except for some light window tints.....

SS are great cars. No doubt. But people want $40K for a decent used one. For the same price or less, you could get a CTS-V that (to me at least), looks better, goes faster, is easier to make big power and gets (believe it or not) the same MPGs. I think the SS may be a little bigger as far as trunk space and rear legroom (if you're into that).

I have owned a 2009 Pontiac G8 GT, 14 SS Sedan and still have a 17 SS Sedan M6 that I added some goodies to including a LSA blower. Makes 675hp at the wheels and is without a doubt a unbelievable car. Cost less than a gen 2 ctsv, larger interior and much newer interior. I have not had a single issue with any of them, Holden knows how to make a legit 4 door race car. Happy hunting and you won’t be disappointed.

Love my 2014 SS! It is my daily driver. I bought it used with 32k miles and now have 50k miles and so far so good. Like others have said, the car gets attention where ever it goes. It is a shame Holden/Chevy stopped production -- I mean, come on, a 4-door LS3, manual, rear wheel drive -- what's not to love?!
