I use my leaf blower to dry off my cars after a wash. Gets all the water out of the little nooks and crannies. Wife thinks I’m cleaning the yard....win win!

Of course I posted the pic at FChat and got the lectures about never putting water on your car. Whatever, man.

OK, so I posted I was looking for a spaghetti car here awhile back. I was thinking Pantera, but I decided instead on a 308 Ferrari and I bought this one at Barrett Jackson on Friday.
Some of my Barrett threads have been surprisingly generating a lot of 308 buying posts, so I’m starting this thread on my non- Corvette buy. I’ll post a few pics from the auction tent and catch up once I get it delivered and I can get more pics and info. In the meantime, this is where we can chat about it if you are interested.

Tell me about the wheels please. What brand are they? Where can they be purchased?

Thanks!
They are HRE racing wheels, I think #505, 16”. They fit the car well.

Well, next week starts the 308 upgrade.
The motor gets a crankshaft from a 360 (drops right in), and 85 MM bore cylinder liners, larger valves, head porting and larger cams, all in the original block.
that comes out to 3586 CC, or 3.6L. And 115- 120 extra HP over stock. Too bad that 360, 5 valve heads won't fit, that upgrade would be worth another 75 HP if it could be done.
It will be like having a matching numbers 327 punched out to 383.
Along with rebuilding the gearbox, and master cyl and PB booster. The suspension has already been all gone through.
Wanna race?

Maybe for racing use.
The stock gearbox can handle 400 HP with no problem. The transfer case from the clutch output shaft, to the gear box can be upgraded easily.

Looking good. Were your others ripped, or just showing too much wear?
I got mine from GAHH, IIRC the name of the company, they were maybe in N. Hollywood? Back in 2010. Door panels also.
I didn't think it was that expensive, but then I have become somewhat numb to prices on stuff for fancy cars. You will come to think anything Corvette is a bargain.
I passed on the Wilton wool carpet and had local guy make me up some carpet from modern carpet material. You can't really tell its not the Wilton by looking at it, but it was whole lot cheaper.
The upholstery guy I had said to use the original seat foam as it would outlast whatever was available to him, new.
So, when are you going to decide it needs repainting? LOL

Re-originals or GAHH? I got all my new hides from GAHH and they were perfect.
I restored this Vetroresina a while back. It had this terrible "period correct" soundsystem with extra speakers cut into the door cards. Ricambi America was on speed dial for a few months, but the car treated me great, and I sold it at a profit...
To a guy who pulled the motor and swapped in a turbocharged 4 valve motor, wheels, suspension, brakes and listed it for sale here https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds...b/2071120.html

Now the carpet looks awful. I see World UPH has decent carpet sets, only 2+ times Corvette cost, lol.
The paint looks real nice, unless it falls off. I wouldn’t mind a mint new shifter console with all new bits though.

I had a bizarre cd / stereo that flipped open like a robot transformer... unfortunately it turned on when it wanted to and eventually caused enough draw that I had to pull the fuse in it! I have an NOS Blaupunkt in the box to replace it with, just for looks’ sake.
Im not sure what I’ll need to make this interior all come together... door cards or dying them, seat backs? Door panel pouches? Dunno.

Christmas update: holding the beautiful new leather up against the 40 year old carpet, more project creep arrived. So, got a new carpet set as well. Looking forward to seeing how all that comes together.
Also, I bought a new set of 16” repro stock design wheels, so I can use the new Pirellis I bought (and buy better 16” tires in the future) rather than go all the way back to prehistoric 14” original wheels. Was wanting the original look.
So, lots going on on the redhead this winter.

It's only money, what else are you going to do with it besides spend it on something else?
