2018 Z06 to a 2019 Shelby GT Supersnake?
Has anyone thought about this? Not the new 2020 Gt500 but the Shelby Super Snake which is a 70k option to a GT premium which is 51k total around 120k.

lol why?? Might as well get a ZR1 if you're going to spend 120k. Or not even that, that's entering used R8 or used 911 money. Both of which are upgrades to the z06.
Or do what another z owner did, and UPGRADE to the AMG GTR.
But you bought a stang already man, why have 2 stangs? lol Spread out the car love.
Never knew why anyone would have 2 of the same car lol

I would NEVER that kind of money on a Rustang!!! A that amount, get a used 911 turbo, by thousang miles better than a mustang!! Regardless if its a 19SS Or even a 2020 Shelby!! Mustang are getting better, nowhere near Z06 ZR1 and even less R8, AMG or P cars!!!

Jesus Christ wait a couple months for a 2020 gt500. Or get a gt350R if you really want a change.

Lol you're what's wrong with some of the Corvette fans. The 2020 gt500 will rape a Z06 in any highway encounter or half mile event. Hell a 2013/2014 gt500 matches a z06 in speed.

You think a 760 hp mustang won't beat the Z06? And we know the c7Z is the same speed as the c6zr. Here ya go. Pretty close if you ask me. I know after 130 ish the c7Z starts losing ground due to all the aero drag.

I am a Mustang fan but I would be careful of Shelby American with quality control issues, etc. If you do some deep searching they've had issues....Rumor has it Ford had to show up and repossess a substantial fleet of vehicles that were just sitting at Shelbys yard for non payment. Biggest issue is the quality is just not there for the money they charge. If going with a Mustang, wait for the 2020 Mustang from Ford.
Good luck.
Good luck.

It was a thought, we have talked about this before, trying to get into 1 ultimate car instead of 2 or 3 and losing focus on them. I found that I am actually enjoying the 5.0 GT better (driving it more than the z06) I love the exhaust note in these coyote motors, they rev to 7500 rpm. Is comfy. I don’t know, I’m sure when I get in the corvette I’ll be like what was I thinking! so I glanced at the Shelby Super Snake. But no way after thinking, it’s just a GT with whipple supercharger and bunch other goodies for over 120k. I made some dumb decisions but this one I have to pass on.
Then if i were to say sell all 3 cars and just getting a 2020 GT500, which i thought about. Then it check marks everything. But the corvette looks a lot better. I think if it's your daily, the GT500 will be a better car, a better upgrade. If it's a weekend car, i wouldn't do it. That's why i haven't. Because i'm still deciding if i wanna just get rid of the weekend car idea and get just 1 car. Or just replace the weekend car with another weekend car. Either way my Z is going, it's just a matter of when and with what.

Just a thought about mustangs, Lebanon Ford and Beechmont Ford in southern Ohio will supposedly sell you a mustang with whatever hp you want with a full warranty. Not a Shelby but a Supercharged Gt

Seems like a lot of Ford dealerships are Mod friendly....especially when they in house Roush at their dealerships.

They don't upgrade anything else. It's just power.
So what tires come on a stock GT?? 245's?? lol
Good luck pushing 700hp through that. Then if the owner puts bigger wheels, wider stickier tires to go to the track.............SNAP. There goes the axles they didn't upgrade.
Bring to the dealer. Hey man, my axles snapped. "sorry sir, that was user error, we don't warranty that".
Because if this wasn't the case. I would imagine every future GT owner would go straight there, and never buying a stock ordinary GT at all.

Yeah, i mean i still think about that every now and then. Just selling all my cars (i only have 3) and just getting ONE all around car. Something spacious, something fast, something fun, something reliable, something that has killer looks and something somewhat practical. We know the corvette is reliable, it's fast, it's fun. But it's not spacious and it's not practical.

Never gave it a thought, to me no matter what Ford puts under the hood it would be a downgrade from my 2019 Z06.

If you really wanted to cross over to Ford, you might want to consider the 2020 Shelby GT500 with DCT only and about 760 h/p. Now, some specs have been released but they are very quiet about weight. I would guess it will run around 4,100 lbs - at least 600 lbs more than your Z06. I had a '17 Shelby GT350, and loved the exhaust note, manual tranny was great, fun driving something with an 8250 redline, but then again, no guts below around 3800 RPM. Car had too many issues, and the toy became a burden, so exchanged it for my '19 Z06 last year.
Order banks are open for the GT500, but some words of caution here: (1) Most Ford dealers are real SOBs about tacking on nosebleed ADMs on these cars - I am already hearing stories of ADMs over $20k for the track oriented versions and (2) the term "Shelby" really does not have the gravitas it had many years ago - Shelby passed away a few years ago, and these cars have nothing at all to do with him directly. Looks like a "base" Shelby with few options will run you North of $80k OTD. And they want $10k for painted on stripes! That is just nutz.

C7Z A8 vs the new GT500. I think it will be a fender/door either way. But you never know until you try.
And OP. What about buying a slightly used super snake so someone else went through all the bs and depreciation hit. Unlike anything in the Corvette world (not even Callaway cars imo) would take the kind of hit a super snake does.
