Default Mt Rainier Tour, 6-23

Corvettes de Olympia is making a lap around Mt. Rainier on Saturday, June 23rd. We'll leave from the Royal Bean Coffee Shop on Tumwater Blvd, (formerly Airdustrial Way) in Tumwater at 9 AM. Stop in Enumclaw at McDonalds, then up over Chinook Pass and have a picnic lunch at the Bat Caves on Old Mill Creek half way down the east side of the pass. Bring your own picnic lunch. Then down to the junction of Chinook and White Pass by Naches and back up White Pass to Morton and through Elbe back home. About 300 miles total. You are welcome to come along!

Wow Randy and Vinnie really wish I could make this but I'm off for Carson City, NV in the morning. Me and 10 Corvettes from around the NW are convoying down through Central Oregon to meet up in CC with the rest of the www.C3VR.com members from around the country
Maybe another time.

We should hit the McDonalds in Enumclaw around 10 AM. That is usually our first pit stop. Some describe our tours as driving nice cars from rest room to rest room. Next stop will be at Lake Tipso at the summit of Chinook pass and then lunch at the bat caves, bring your picnic lunch. Usually a stop at the top of White Pass, another at Morton, and then back home. Hope you can make it, look forward to meeting you.

Not sure that's right gath...It looks to me like 410 goes to Naches, where you pick up 12 to White Pass.

Correct. We'll follow 410 almost to Naches where it hits 12 and then turn west on 12, White Pass. 123 is Cayuse pass and we'll take the long way around. Cayuse is a nice drive but we're planning to have lunch a little further down Chinook Pass, 410, at Old Mill Road about mile post 95.

Lookin' forward to meeting you. We are meeting another member of our club in Enumclaw who lives in Puyallup. He'll be drivng a yellow C5 vert.

So the correct map would be:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=e...4854&z=10&om=1

Thanks!

Hey roadstr899...thanks to the club for letting us tag along today. Sorry we couldn't make the whole trip, but I had to get back. I just got home about 5:30... You all are a great bunch of folks from OLY! Hope to see you on the Hood Canal loop run...that's kinda in my neck of the woods.

Hats off to Randy for another great run. 300 miles and home by 6:30.
Most of the trip went well, only a few slow folks that would not pull over. We ended up with nice weather and got to meet some new folks.

Did anyone happen to catch the contact information of the fella that spotted us from Enumclaw and went up the pass with us in the Pewter Coupe?
I took a picture of his car for him at the rest area and would like to send it to him.
Thanks, Vinnie

Glad you guys all came along, was great meeting you. We finished with a nice run over White Pass and even got some open road driving when others pulled over for us.
We have another run coming up July 14th over Windy Ridge on Mt St Helens. Up Hwy 12 to Randle and over to Woodland on I5. There's about 85 miles of an old forest service road that is now paved and is the kind of road Corvettes were designed to run on, nothing but corners, dips, and hairpins. Excellent run. Put that one on your calendar.

PM Trigger Creep...he was exchanging info on a stop heading back home. We gave him our website (pnwcorvettes.com) and if he logs on, I'll get the info back to you.

What a drive! It was great to meet such a good group of folks. Count me in for the next one around St Helens.

Lee was in the pewter coupe that joined in. He was just out to pick up his mail when he saw the crowd. He's a new Vette owner. I gave him this website and the PNWCorvettes site too. I'll have him get in touch with you.
