Default Columbia River Gorge Cruise July 7th

Saturday, July 7th. We'll meet in Troutdale and drive up to the Maryhill Winery via the Bridge of the Gods and return on the Columbia River Historic Highway. I'm trying to set up a tour of the winery and we'll be making photo stop at the Stonehenge Memorial. I am preparing a map with the stops and points of interest. This is one of the most beautiful drives in the northwest.

If there's any interest we can BBQ at my house afterward in Clackamas. Please rsvp here if you're interested in the cruise, BBQ or both.

I have more parking than the beach house and big deck with a Mt Hood view.

More info as it comes in.

Okay here is a map of the route. I can email a pdf if you send me a PM. Please pm for directions to my house as well. I am open to suggestions on the route.

MAP CORRECTION...DO NOT TAKE EXIT 13... TAKE EXIT 17 AND MEET BEHIND McDONALDS Please make a note of it and acknowledge. Sorry about that.

Here's the list so far:

Occomsrazor (cruise and BBQ)
Hotrod03 (cruise)
PrincipalVette (cruise and BBQ)
MajorScrewup (cruise)
QuasarBlue92 (cruise)
Vette&CobraGuy (cruise)
StingerZ16 (cruise)
Maui (cruise and BBQ)
Z06PDX (Cruise)
Stormfront (cruise and BBQ)
Inger 67 (cruise and BBQ)
Johnandsarah002 (cruise and BBQ)
Rollin18
mixermike
CaptMike13
msslp04

Sorry if I left anyone off the list. If so it was purely accidental.

The plan will be to meet at the McDonalds in Troutdale along I-84 at 9:00 to 9:30 Take exit 17. We'll make the cruise and then meet at the Albertson's on Sunnyside Road in Clackamas before going to my house a bout a mile from there. We can pick up any other supplies at Albertsons so we don't have to carry all the extra weight. I will be providing hamburger paties, brats, chips and adult beverages. I will ask that the drinks be limited to two if you are driving. If you have a desiganted driver than by all means enjoy yourself and have fun. I will also provide cigars from an isalnd south of miami for those so inclined. I will have copies of the route to hand out at Popeyes. If you are meeting others prior to Popeyes I'll ask that you make those arrangements among yourselves here.

I have a meeting in Hood River on Friday so I will be double checking the exit numbers and route. I'll post any changes here Friday night. So take a look in the morning to verify.

Thanks to everyone and it will be a blast to meet you all. PM me so we can exchange cell phone numbers.

Sounds like a fun drive-out. Too bad it's the same day as the Historic Races at PIR and the NHRA Divisional event at Woodburn - I still can't even decide which of those I'm going to have to miss out on Wish I could be in three places at the same time.....

Default Update

The Maryhill winery will be expecting us at about noon. Tours and wine tasting will be $5 per person. They have snacks, crackers, cheese, smoked salmon, etc. They do not serve lunch so bring a scak lunch. They have a very nice picnic area.

Your welcome to attend the BBQ at my house even if you don't make the cruise. Hamburger, brats and beverages.

Next year for sure, flying to laurel Mt on the 27th to take delivery from Ken @ fichtner chev. Getting married on the 5th of july, right after I get back. Busy 2 weeks, when does suburban chev have their shindig, and is everyone welcome or just cars purchaced from them? Have fun, thanks for the heads up.

Bluefire (cruise and BBQ)
Johnandsarah002 (cruise and BBQ)

Some on still on the fence for the BBQ. Let me know by the 1st. Thanks.

Nice turnout so far. I put eight hours on the map but it can be done much quicker. I drive to The dalles on business almost once per week and it usually takes me about 1.5 hours to get there, door to door. Just depends on how many picture stops we make and who's leading

Send me a PM if you want a pdf of the cruise map. Not sure how to post a downloadable pdf.

My last update for a while as I am boarding a plane for London. See you all and hopw the Brits don't give me too much crap for wearing my Corvette T. LOL

I'm hoping I can make this one but I have to warn the owners of the 92 Quasar Blue Corvette that I might cry when I see it. My 92 Quasar Blue has been gone a little over two years and I still miss it terribly. I've adjusted to the 2000 and like it a lot, but it's hardly the love affair I had with the 92.

I look forward to meeting more forum members.
