Default Bought a new lift today-see pic

This is not my car (Fun One's car) but I am going to set it up just like this one, recessed in the floor. Pull the car in and park over the lift, presto, out of sight out of mind. Max height is 53". I had a four post lift but got tired of tripping over the rails all the time and seeing four big posts. Finishing off my garage now, I will post pics when completed. It is a Bend-Pak lift.

again it is not my car or lift. I do not know what kind of tile it is, but you could ask Fun One. I am going to buy my tile from Lowes self interlocking style. I like the quality and price. I will have mostly gray tiles with some red as well.

So if the lift is recessed in the floor, you must have to have a fairly thick slab?

The other option I've seen with this lift is to build wooden ramps on the sides and box in the lift with wood, but I like the resessed look much better

You cut and remove existing concrete (4") and then you pour another 4" slab of concrete flush with the bottom of the existing slab. Simply remove 4" of the existing fill below slab.

ASE automotive service equipment $1480.00, have seen prices close to $1800.00 on the net. The price included shipping to the 48.

Nice garage. I like the way he has that reccess into the floor. Very nice job.
I hope someday to have a 2 post lift. Those are my favorite because you have can drop the driveline out, and can be bought for just a little over two grand. . I just replaced my tranny and diff. using Jackstands. Which wasn't too bad. But a lift sure would have been nicer. But I think you would need at least a 10' ceiling for a 2 post.

Hey Red, Well they have diff. two posts for dif. height ceiling so I am sure you will be able to come up with something that will work for you. Good luck man.
PS How the hell did you change your tranny with jack stands. Wow, you the man.

I bought my tiles from Sears and they are the Craftsman tiles. Check out my gallery for pictures.

4 Jackstands to hold the car up.

1 Jackstand to hold the tranny/diff. while dropping the the rear sub frame out with One El Cheapo Harbor Freight $50 transmission jack.

Set sub frame on Wheel Ramps agasint the wall to free up El Cheapo Harbor Freight $50 transmission jack.

Use El Cheapo Harbor Freight $50 transmission jack to drop Tranny/Diff./ Torque Tube.

And it helps to have a friend to help drop and stab it back in.

You can see in the pics I didn't have the car up super high in the air. Probably about 18 inches.

There is a guy out there that has a few used lifts, 2 and 4 post.
He gets them from dealerships and repair shops when they upgrade and/or go out of business. Prices are great!

I got a four post 'cause of the junk I work on and I have the room.
The cool thing is it has cross beams that allow the runways to drop out.
$1500 installed! It works great. PM me if you want the #

I can make a deal for vette guys or girls that may want to use it
