Best paint shop in Seattle-Tacoma/Bellevue area
This is for a frequently driven (not daily driven) C5Z06.
I have a lot of paint chips so if the price is right i might just get it painted if the price is right.
1. Which shop around Seattle does the best paint job?
2. How much does a paint job that will look as good as new from factory cost approximately?
I have seen estimates of 5000$ and more. Someone said it is show car quality.
How is show car quality paint better than factory? more durable?
or maybe save some money and go with a good detail and cut in the meantime:
3. Which detail shop around Seattle can be trusted for removing swirls etc?

The more expensive paint jobs have more labor put into them. Preparation is the key and multiple coats of color with sanding in between and wet-sanding of the the clear coat(s) gets you that deep, smooth appearance.
Paint prices can vary widely as well. Metallics, pearls and color shifting paints are all variables in the total price.
But it's the people doing the work that makes the most difference and C of A has a great crew and their full restorations are a testament to their quality.

I had some body/paint work done there a few years ago and it was all done exceptionally well. Great place to get your Vette worked on.

Bel-Red Auto in Bellevue. They have worked on my other Vette and MB's. The high end dealers in Bellevue use them a lot too. PM me if you want to know more.

Bellevue Auto Rebuild - They do all of the touch up work for Barrier Mercedes/Porsche/Audi and have worked on a couple of my cars in the past. Great work and outstanding attention to detail!

I am their customer for the past so many years. They arent cheap for sure. And in the last year their reputation has gone down among the folks i know.

Corvettes of Auburn: Now, that I've gotten to know them, I don't think I'd want to trust anyone else with the responsibility of painting my car except these guys. They must have painted more Corvettes around here than anyone else. And the dialogue I've had with them suggests to me that they know exactly what they're doing. That's where I'm having mine painted within the next couple of weeks!

United Autobody in Issaquah
remember....cheap, good or fast. Pick two. If it is a good job and done fast it won’t be cheap. If fast and cheap, it won’t be good. Get the picture......
United Autobody does it right.

I finally got back my $4000 repaired / partial repainted '67. I think the paint looks fantastic. Time will tell. Missing blots when the hood was reset... well that a different story. I guess $4k isn't what it used to be.

flex cracks are back
In January I had my front clip repaired/painted. The pix are posted in this thread. Not to harp on it... $4000 for the job. Now, seven months later, the flex cracks around the headlamp buckets are back. Yea. I knew they would come back someday... just not within less than a year. I'm gonna call the shop that did the work, but, before I do, I'd like to get a 2nd, 3rd, ... opinion. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being totally pissed off, 0 being slightly disappointed, I'm about a 6. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

I had the same type of cracks on a 64 that I used to own. I had them repaired properly and they did not come back for the seven years I owned the car. It involves doing a slow build up of resin and fiberglass cloth in critical areas on the back side of where the cracks are located. Nasty dirty process but it will work if done right.
I would be around a 9 or 10 in the upset factor. The shop let you down big time.

Any recommendations on custom paint work? I'd like the recessed CORVETTE on my C6's bumper painted black. Just the flat portion... not the sloped sides which seems very difficult.
