Tomorrow's trackday is on! Only scattered drizzle on and off, mostly after noon.

I just picked up the car today; all set up and ready to tango! Now itching to start getting to know what makes the new lady tick...

I won't make it (wanted to attend with Miata, and it's not ready), but my brother with his Viper or Miata, and a friend with his C6 Grand Sport will be there. I'm sure they'll make good competition for you : )

Ohhhhh no! Certainly not looking for competition. I'll be just trying to feel the lady out getting to know her. I'll probably be stepping on her toes learning her moves! I've only been doing pedestrian stuff so far, keeping my nose clean. Since last summer, most my riding has been on metro buses commuting. I'll need a few trackdays with her under my belt before I start swinging her around.

Alfa guys are doing a half day in Kent next weekend. I'll check the radar first thing in the am tomorrow. If it doesn't look promising, I might go for their trackday even though I hate to go to Pacific.

Any of you found a good group to run with at Portland Int'l? I used to go down for the annual Rose City Corvettes weekend - autocross on Sunday, track on Monday but they stopped doing the track day.

I'd like to run Portland for my first track day in my new Z06 since I'm pretty familiar with the track and it's got more runoff than Pacific.

I'll be heading to Spring Mountain towards the end of June and it'd be nice to run it on a track a couple times prior to going.

The BMW club has the most events but is also the busiest, many of their days fill up fast. Both the Porsche and Alfa clubs also do track days. Cascade Sports Car Club does theirs on Fridays before their race weekends, looks like 3 days this year. Plenty of days to choose from, check on Motorsportreg for dates.

Well you are all missing a great day. 30 minute sessessiins in the am. 20 in the afternoon.

First session was very demoralizing with frozen track and water on top. Couldn't brake or accelerate I was starting to think I made a big mistake, and should have brought my other car. But by third session things looked very very different when it dried. Fun times... car set up is flawless!

Tom,

Do you allow race cars during these events? We are always looking for seat time in the cars (vintage). We have a 1987 Corvette, 1983 March S2000 and 1973 Alfa GTV.

Thanks,
Brad

Hi Brad,

Tom always has race cars at his events. Turn2 has several stock cars available to rent and there are always people attending his events with fully race prepared cars. I would suggest giving Tom a call yourself and coming out to the track. We had an awesome time yesterday just like always!
You can find Tom’s contact information on the Turn2 Web site http://www.turn2lapping.com/. The picture on the front page is of “Stickers” one of the race cars you will often see at Tom’s events.

Kevin

Yes Brad, like Kevin said, we always have fully prepared race cars show up to our events. It is kind of like a super cool car show, but we get to play with the cars! I personally bring at least 4 race cars and we have some street cars that we bring as well.

Nice day at the track yesterday with T2.

A number of nice looking Vettes, and one nicely replicated C7R Z06. Not sure if he's on this forum (sorry I forgot your name, one too many concussions!). Here's a picture a friend of mine took with you in it.

No Limit was there ripping it out as usual, with his new toy, also in the picture!

Great day at the Ridge by T2, nice sunny and dry, cool enough to keep the cars happy too. Lots of different cars and a good showing of vettes. Can't bear to take the ZR1 out there it's just too nice, but sure lovin the P car even if I have gone to the dark side !

Here's a video clip of the three of us! You sure you don't want to trade your ZR1 for the upcoming ZR1?

Registration for July 28th PCA at the Ridge is open now. With only 10 spots for non-instructors in the A group, they will fill up quick, if you are planning on it.

Yes, the green grass sure makes it a lot more scenic than those dry desert looking tracks we keep seeing videos from down south!

I had a great day at PIR with the BMW club on Thursday the 4th.. Weather in the mid-eighties. I became a fan of my new Toyo R888R tires.

I told Kamran as well, I can get you guys to ORP club's track days for only $200 as my guest. It's usually only 10 or so attendees, and open track whole day! I have 3 guest certificates every year.
