Default 1964 Cheetah

Looks like the cheetah is going to be sold for a cool $500xxx. My dad (Larry Webb) raced it!

One of my favorite cars ever. As a kid in the 60s, I had a black 1/24th *** Slot Car of it....

I remember this car well. Used to see it (or one of the others, but also in green) on the mean streets of Burien.

Ahhh , the Cheetah, the engine/transmission shares a universal joint with the rear end.

I have always wondered how the very rearward driving position
would influence the driving experience. But Lordy, what a beautiful piece.

It's "bugging" me about the article saying that Alan Green ordered 3 of these. I remember, at best only two. Bill Thomas but only 11 of these so they weren't plentiful. I remember seeing one of them on the street in Burien but am not sure if it was the race car - was there really only one, then?

Would you ask your dad about this? I'm curious.

Default A friend took this one to Arizona a couple of months ago

He needed me to help load it. Not much left but one of the originals.
Yes those are the original mag wheels as well.
Evidently the original chassis designer lives about 25 miles from me.

Interesting, especially since it appears to have been green at sometime during its life.

Were there plates with SN or other means of determine which chassis this is? Given the timing I can;t imagine this is an earlier photo of the one in the Hemmings article.

Can't quite remember but I think he said this was #5. Supposedly the woman driver was at a drag strip without the front "bonnet" and it went airborn at about 120 mph. Therefore the condition.

Okay, just talked to my Pops. #1 was wrecked at Daytona in 1964. After that, they got a second (#7) Cheetah.

The THIRD Cheetah was Alan Green's wife's car and it was lime green.
