Default Friday Harbor - San Jauns

off Tuesday to Friday Harbor -- anyone go there often... what do you recommend on the Island?

Whale museum downtown, ice cream on the waterfront, sculpture park near Roche Harbor, American Camp, English Camp and Lime Kiln Point. Max speed on the island is 45 mph I think, so watch your speed 😀

If you get to Orcas Island you can drive up to Mt. Constitution for a panoramic view of the San Juans.

That sounds like fun. I haven't been to Friday harbor since the wife and I sailed in the San Jauns many years ago. Beautiful area!

Default Friday Harbor

Walk through the shops downtown then drink a lot. Visit the old fort on the island. (Not a misspelling) there actually is a old fort and light house. Then drink more.

I would have concerns driving on an off the ramps depending on the tide.

British Camp, American Camp, Roche Harbor, Lime Kiln State park, Cattle point, There is a Llama farm on the way from Roche to Cattle point on the south end of the island.. Snug Harbor is also a nice visit. That should take most of a day to see.

Ooops.. I see I'm pretty late on this post

Keith, since Llamas are indigenous to Latin America, does one prononuce it "Yamma"?

Just wondered.

Hmmm. I don't know. Maybe they were Alpacas. Long necked, woolly creatures and they make sweaters out of their fuzzy stuff.
