hey guys I'd like to go for some drives around Seattle and I am just wondering where the best roads are? I'm looking for less than one hour drives preferably.

cheers

Less than one hour drives starting in Seattle will barely get you out of the city limits and back most days.....

I'm down in the Federal Way NE Tacoma area and if I just have an hour, i usually head down across the 509 into Tacoma proper and drive up Ruston way toward Point Defiance Park. Lots of scenic views, and a couple of places along 509 where one can push that "Go" pedal with some authority and exercise those 460 horses.

Outside of Seattle there are a lot of great drives but it will be all day. Mt. St Hellens, Mt. Rainier, Highway 2, Leaveanworth (I90, Blewitt Pass).
Inside Seattle: Alki on a nice day, Golden Gardens, Rushton Way but all of those will be longer due to traffic.

Do you have a favorite? I think I am going to head out shortly for a drive. I realize the 1 hour limit is probably too restricting, so I don't mind spending a full day or half day.

Drive up to Marysville and have BBQ with a bunch of other forum members at Jeff's. Details on another thread.

Well a bunch of us went to Jeff's BBQ in Marysville yesterday. The weather wasn't the best and the traffic was even worse due to the weather and an accident.

If you want a good drive, a group of us are heading to a non-judged show in Wenachee next Saturday. We're meeting at the off/onramp of I-90 and HWY 18 and then driving over there.
