It is. Those small tears have actually become "fissures" in geologic terms. Figure about 1966. AD, of course. Back when I was single, weighed about 150 lbs, still had hair and never thought I'd be trying to restore those thunderboats. I never figured most of them would ever reach the stage where there was enough left to be restored.
There were actually quite a number of clubs around in those days. Most seemed to be focused on either Autocross or Rallying. Some like CMCS were marque-focused, but they hosted events, like Autocrosses and Rallies and allowed non-members to participate.
A frequent term among the rally crowd, in order to determine if a particular rally event was to be run on paved roads or with some gravel or dirt was "Healey-Approved" Anyone who has ever owned a big Austin Healey (100 or 3000) knows what I mean. It had to do wih the impossibly low exhaust system.
Those were innocent times and a great deal of fun...

A neighbor of mine had a red 1959 Porsche 356A that belonged to the club. I remember it was purchased new from the Sports Car Center on Empire Way, in Seattle

I think it eventually became BACG (Boeing autcross group), they are mainly down south. Shoot, I can't remember his name, but one of our fellow PNW-CF members met up with me for dinner one day so we could oogle over eachothers cars, and he told me they still operate...I want to say, down in Renton...not sure. Just can't remember his name or handle; I will look up my old thread posts, and see if I can't dig it up.

Nope, but there's a Boeing Corvette Club here in Everett called the Castaways Corvette Club.

There was - and may still is - a Boeing associated group called the StratoCruisers or something like that...
A Corvette Club though. Boeing must be paying better wages than when I worked in the mail room.

I think it may have been some time before the new group, focused on Autocrossing rather than rallying emerged.
But you're right, both were Boeing Clubs, but I think there was some time between them.
