Well, you're not too far off Keith. I thought the side "coves" would elicit some Corvette guesses,

Well, of course I saw those Phil, but thought it was too obvious. I was thinking 'trick question'.

Interesting. Speaking of the Motoramas of the '50's.....

My dad took me to the 1958 Motorama at the Civic Center in San Francisco. Aside from the dramatic displays of all the new GM automobiles, the one thing I still remember is that one of the featured cars was a 1958 Pontiac like the family car we had. Only difference was the upgraded interior...different seat material, different door panel material etc. Even then as a 6 year-old kid, I thought it was pretty cool that my parents had a car 'just like' one of the cars on display. They kept that car until 1965 when they bought a blue 4 door Pontiac Bonneville.

I should have known that the Dagmars would indicate Caddy, although Buick had them as well (modified) in the 50's.

Dagmars? Keith, one of he best things about this forum - and Corvettes in general - is that there are obviously people in my age demographic who still have the ability to remember such esoteric things.

Cheers!

My next door neighbor had a car just like the picture below and parked it on the street so I passed by it almost every day. As I was only a little kid at the time, it wasn't until later that I learned about the term, Dagmars, and what it meant.

In 1950s auto design, the slang term "Dagmar bumper" emerged to describe dual chrome pointed projections on the front ends of Cadillacs, Buicks, Packards, and other U.S. automobiles, an allusion to the actress' physique and trademark attire.

Careful there, Keith (and Joe). you're showing your age.

Wonder why Sports Illustrated Magazine never published an annual "Dagmar Issue"?
