Z069?
Moving forward with my project.
The 4L75E is mated to the LS7.
The old motor and transmission are sold.
Motor mounts and adapters are here.
Tranny mount will be here soon.
Hopefully I can slip this bad boy into my 69 in a week.
My wife says no to a small block hood but what fun to mess with folks!
500+hp coming to a cruisin near you! LOL!

So far, the LS7 is part of GM's connect and cruise kit. I have the GM harness and computer.
I went with the 2600 stall torque converter. Motor mount adapters came from Ebay. New poly motor mounts. Transmission mount on its way.
Sunday is looking nice so I will gather some guys and see if I can slip the whole thing in.
I'll order the accessories and brackets next week. I'll be unable to work on her for a while starting Monday so I'm in no hurry for the parts.
The SB hood is just to protect the engine bay while sitting outside. I have a PTM L88 long hood that will be reinstalled after the work is complete.
My son put an LS motor in a 68 Camaro. Pretty sweet setup!

FYI: i’ll Be converting to Rack and Pinion steering.
My steering box and ram are in the way.
I just learned today my sons LS conversion in his 68 had the same problem. He used a BFH to fine tune his headers. He also admitted he wished he had just converted his steering.

Either way, a R&P conversion might be a good upgrade.
I figure that the sixty eight is all about fun because no amount of money would make it rival my C7 for actual performance.

Yeah I understand being torn.
I struggled between a higher performing cheaper LS3 or the LS7.
I secretly used my wife’s logic and asked myself two questions.
1) if I buy the LS3 would I still desire the LS7. Maybe some day.
2) if I buy the LS7 would I still desire the LS3. Not likely.
Question answered.
I agree with your “it’s all about fun” comment all though I’d include all vettes in the statement!

Oh, I like that idea. Gives you several paint schemes to choose from. Even a vinyl roof (I presume you know the story of that feature).Maybe some Minilite-style wheels and some and a few subtle pinstripes.
I think what might rally be cool is to do the Sunoco livery but in a very light "ghost" fasion so it can barly be seen.
Just sayin'

Anyone here having further interest in this build can find my thread in the C3 forum where I have kept up to date. More pictures and details there.

Nice project. Just make sure to do the LS7 heads; would suck if you dropped a valve into that motor.
