I always enjoy seeing the wide variety at all BJ auctions.
We went to the 2011 Scottsdale and had a great time. Amazing the number and variety of vehicles available.
Also did Mecum back in 08 while at Pebble Beach along with Gooding, and Russo&Steele. Great trips, BUT so many cars, so little $$......we were just lookers.

I'm watching and have been there. If a person only goes to one B-J auction Scottsdale is the one to see. Lots of everything.
I also sold my last Vette with B-J in Reno back in 2013. Hot August Nights was going on at the same time and the town was full.

We also did B-J in Vegas their first year there. Good show but too much walking on concrete......but the Convention Center was air conditioned

Melting Slicks
Was at B-J on Wednesday for the first time. Huge (something like 1,700 cars for sale), walked 3.5 miles to see it all. Plan on watching on TV on Sat.

Yes, there was a lot of money in that building and bidders were not afraid to spend it. Such a wide array of high-quality cars of all types and sizes.
And the $ 1,400,000. for the serial number 1 2018 Carbon 65 Edition Corvette.

Question -- Why does the auctioneer talk like that???... it is worse than reading a legal document.

For some reason. I do not like the B-J auction but tend to watch bits of it while channel surfing for cooking shows now that the Seahawks are out of the playoffs. (mercifully)
I can understand the appeal to those who attend the event as if it was a huge car show (which I suppose it is)
Maybe it's the years of stories, experiences and correspondence I've had with friends and acquiantances who have been involved as sellers, commentators, and dealers. I often feel as if I should go take a shower during commercial brakes.
Too much sleaze, overdramatic if-worthy- charity sales. Knowing there are some phony bidders, especially on telephone, and some sellers being cheated of their allotted time across the ramp.
And what's up with all the people pn the stage? Looks like the 300 Spartans at Thermopylae. nd we know what happened to them.
I admit I can't personally vouch for the information I've received, but it has given me a strong dislike of the B-J auction. It's a circus.
Or maybe it's because I prefer the Bonhams - style events like seen on Chasing Classic Cars.
Does anyone know what time any Corvettes are coming up for bid?

Been to all the auctions except for two this week. Lots of cars! and lots of million + cars sold. BJ had a few 78 PCR's went, ranging from 17,500 to 37,500 depending on the clock. Most of the cars I saw went for far below what I have seen in the past. Funny thing, the millennials want nothing to do with soft tops so coupes of retractables are in with them. Mercedes cars are now dirt cheap like the 2003-2007 SL500 running about 15k to start. Corvettes everywhere but not getting what they have in the past either.
