King 5, Komo 4 and all the local weather forecasters are saying rain possible on Saturday and Sunday. Weather Underground show rain probable for Sunday. It is Seattle and depending on when you walk out the door and look into the sky will tell you if it's raining or not. At least that is what I've found living in Seattle. It can change daily. *lol*
Cheers,
Alex

On the other hand, having attended this great show every year for a long time, It appears there is enough Zaino, Zymol, Mother's, Griots, and Blitz wax on most of the Corvettes entered that any precipitation couldn't get within 3 feet of them. .
However, if the forecasts are right, this may be the year I enter the C6 Aero Lightweight (one of only 42 made).

All the heat we have had this summer....and it rains this weekend. Just cleaned my vette, only to have it rained on 5 minutes later.
My weather app shows a 40% chance of rain as of 11AM tomorrow.

Once again, a great show!
Mike (and the CMCS crew)
Congratulations on what appears to be another great gathering of Corvettes and their families. I saw a lot of cars today I had not seen before and spent time with a lot of friends I haven't seen for a while either. I usually go to the XXX (which my granddaughters insist that means "Three Kisses") every Sunday. It's interesting that this is the one show I attend every year where I don't seem to take many photos. Probably because I spend too much time renewing friendships with friends I made the years before. Of course, that's half the fun, isn't it?
I am in awe of the work and logistics that must go into this event every year. What's the old phrase: "The Right Crowd and No Crowding"? Seems to work every year.
Oh, BTW, how dd you manage to hold off the rain?
Good job, well done, CMCS! Thank You

I tend to agree with your observation re the voting and I seem to recall this was an issue under much discussion last year - and probably every other year before. I rarely enter the event so can't be considered an insider, but having organized and judged at a number of formal true concours events over the years, the club element, as you describe it, does seem unfair in many respects. Am I correct in that the "judges" are also the entrants? I only mention my experience since not all concours/Show and Shines are judged the same. I've even judged at events where the criteria seems to suggest more of a "cleaning contest"
Above all, the event should be fun for all, spectators, entrants and, yes, even judges. But even in its current format, CMCS must go through a lot of work and planning to produce a show that, for me anyway, exceeds expectations.
So... what's the answer? I'm not sure. There are too many "solutions". While I feel your comment, Jon, is appropriate and probably shared by many other entrants, consider the alternatives. How would you like to see the event judged?
Oh, forgot to to ask if Jacob still collects Ferrari stuff?

Nice show and glad the weather held up to the end. Funny you guys mentioned "club voting" Speaking to a couple guys telling me they win a trophy every show. I thought they were kidding, but when the awards came out they both won their best of class! I didn't think they were stunning or special but the owners were both well known in the group.

Suggesting that Nicely Framed Store Bought Certificates of Achievement be presented as awards
rather than Dust Collector Trophies.
This would require a quality on site printer and someone with skills to enter the Name Etc so
the Professionally Printed Award could be completed.
The Intent is 1) The award recipient gets something that can be hung on a wall, placed in a scrap book/photo album
and 2) It cost less money to produce than the "trophies"

Class awards are are voted on by participants. The number of class awards varies based on the number of cars in a class.
The only “ JUDGING “ done is for the final awards like sponsors choice, best survivor, best in show, etc soooooooo let’s wait and see the results by club once they are posted.

John: Great to check in with you. Nice to see your Z is looking good , as always. I agree, that maybe there should be an early "z" category? Phil, Walter, Aaron, Joe, Mike... great to see you all again. Maybe I'll organize a "run to BBB in Sammamish soon. As for the awards going to CMCS member, I think that since it is a majority of CMCS people there and they know each others cars, it is to be expected. Same for British Columbia. I am probably naïve in thinking there is no "club collusion" in picking winners. But if non club members do not show up then it becomes natural and comfortable to vote for your buddies Vette...especially if you know the time and energy put into the "ride" to make it right. Just sayin....
And thanks to CMCS for all the time and effort into putting on a good show and holding off the rain.
Cheers.

Here are some better stats done by our own Kevin Wilson. Thanks Kevin.
Here are some statistics that show yet again the biggest single category of winners at our XXX Show are by far the non-CMCS attendees.
When you look at all clubs combined they did win 57% of all trophies, compared to 43% of non-affiliated attendees, but that is spread over a dozen different clubs. CMCS took home 19% of the overall trophies.
For the top Trophies (1st Place and Singular awards) the biggest single category of winners at our XXX Show are by far the non-CMCS attendees. The non-affiliated attendees won 53% of the Top Trophies, as a whole members of various clubs took home 47% of the top trophies. CMCS took home 27% of Top Awards.
42 Trophies Awarded
No Club Affiliation = 43%
Other Club Member (10 Others Clubs) = 26%
CMCS = 19%
BCCC = 12%
15 Top Trophies (1st Place or Singular Award)
No Club Affiliation = 53%
CMCS = 27%
Other Club Member (10 Other Clubs) = 13%
BCCC = 7%

It was another enjoyable show - CMCS did a good job hosting it! It's fun to talk with people that I usually only see once a year since this is usually the only show I participate in.
