Default Kinda fell off the face of the earth there for a minute, but I'm back!

What's up Corvette people's of the PNW Sorry I've been absent lately :{ LOTS going on in my life up until now. Things have finally gotten less hectic around my neck of the woods, so I'm gonna start focusing more on my hobbies like I used to

First of all, I owe someone a photo shoot...I have not forgotten. Mr Peabody I believe. PM me, I won't disappear, promise

Secondly, my wife and I are in the process of buying another car! She want's a sporty car to putz around in during the summer now, and we have looked at loooooots of rigs, but here are the finalists. The cars left on the list are the late model Aston Martin V8 Vantage, the 996 generation 911 turbo, the new Jaguar F-type, and the V8 Audi R8 :P What can I say, the woman's got good taste

Making that happen is a combination of excellent financial investments that have paid out quite favorably, and selling my time as a plasti dipper, now that I have a legit shop to do it in (part of why I have been busy). I also went away for 2 months on a trip to India to work on planes for Boeing as an AOG (I got invited by the head of the Everett divison, SO OF COURSE I SAID YES). AOG stands for airplane on ground. It's basicly a team of skilled aerospace craftsmen that get called in the do crazy things, in exotic places, wherever an airplane is broke down somewhere, and everything is totally f$%&#: I spent many very hot 12 hour days there O_o

I have also been focusing more on the baby Audi I bought this last summer, and the thing totally walks the Vette now. Last time I ran the 1/4 I clocked a 10.9 @ 129mph It currently has a Garrett GTX2867R, and all the goodies to go along with it. It currently puts down 430 all wheel HP and TQ, but with AWD, and a dual clutch transmission, I regularly cut sub 2 second 60 foot times, and on street tires, in street trim, I pull about 3.15 sec 0-60...taken quite a few heavy weights with this little sleeper; all the way from C6's, to Maserati's, and even a new M4, and those are just the freeway speed rolls it has been a BLAST in this little thing

Anyways, I am alive, and always kickin' :P I hope to go to more shows, and be more active in the community this new year, so I'll definitely be seein' some of ya around. See ya then.

I see the user interface has changed for adding pics, so let me see if I can make this work...That's the turbo in the Audi, and I plasti dipped the A3 in Force Teal, and added 100 grams of white pearl in it so it pops! Aaaand that's my shop, which is now effectively a giant paint booth can't wait to get a lift now! Still gotta run electrical to it though :/ it currently only has a single extension chord going to it; enough to run my paint turbine.

Welcome back, Erik. You haven't missed too much. This (PNW) forum gets pretty quiet this time of year. I lurk on here a couple times per week but there's usually not much activity. Hopefully it'll pick up once spring is within sight! I like the color on the Audi - very original. Good luck with your wife's purchase. Fortunately for me, my wife wanted a Mini Cooper - I chipped in a bit extra to get her the "S" model and she enjoys it.
Cheers,
Aaron

Hey there Erik:

I too have been quiet lately. Work (I started a couple of new companies and not done yet). Wife's medical issues (she has five morbidities and sees 9 specialists). Prepping the house to sell....anyone interested in Sammamish residence? Etc Etc. Once I get all "set and done" with the house and new location (yet to be determined) I plan on building a 34 hot rod. WE should all get together one day soon. BBB (Big Block Brewing) has a second location in Redmond....I am just saying....

Cheers,

Markm
