i use nothing but iwata . you can buy any piece of them. with the sata i had had a bent needle . to fix it would cost almost as much as a new iwata. at that time you could not buy just a needle. so i sold it and bought new guns from iwata.

Iwata LPH400xx or if you're on a budget the Finex FX3000.
Either way you need plenty of air.
Along with a good sized compressor you will need a 3/8" id hose with high flow couplers, and a good diaphram regulator at the gun.
Run the air presssure to the gun regulator at 90psi+ and cut it down with the regulator at the gun.

Yeah, Autobody store has good prices. But before you do that, how about checking with your local paint and autobody store. I was suprised that the prices our local store sells guns for is very competitive.

Alternatives are a DeVilbiss Finishline III ...and, ok, I'm going to get some flack for this, but my brother's Harbor Freight 43430 (a SATA copy) sprays damn good. I've seen them for as low as $20. I'm sure you will get a lot more consistancy with an Iwata. Can't go wrong.

flack , flack , flack , flack .
i actually bought one of those. tried it. sadly it had a hunting accident out back. they waste way too much material and are air hogs. an old jga 502 is a better gun imho.

I still use one of those for primer! Most of it is about 41 years old and still works like a champ.

got a few myself. one on a pressure pot. i gave my bro inlaw a box full of jga's and binks #7's that were left from the van shop. great for epoxy but suck shooting urethane .
we're still waiting to see who wins between me and my iwata . like having to learn to ride a harley with the brake on the wrong side.
