early flopper bodies were so bad we just gave up . they were really bad in the early 70's . many were made at topper shops and the first time the blower let go it was spiderweb city .

Loving the education as you go through it. Thanks for the effort. It makes us all better.
DUB, NAVY08, I am trying too find the original pictures of DUBS fix for those rocker well nuts, on how he did this repair and what he used to glue them in place. can someone please point in the proper direction.. thanks troy

I am really involved in a 68 project right now along with dabbling on this car....It should not take me too much longer to finish up the 68 and get full throttle on this job.

Default Ready for the next Chapter

I think there will be quite a few people rereading this thread as it was referenced in the C1/C2 section. All very useful and needed information. I have to review my dates on the resin I have been sitting on for several years. Time to throw it away and take the hit. My inclination would be to try and do several layers at a time. Glad to see an expert show the novice the basic steps.
PS Having a vintage drag car certainly adds to the story line.

Default I know the previous owner and have a question

Hi .. I remember this car well .. My friend Russell Linke owned this car for a few decades racing in NHRA SS/JA .. It had gone 9.67 on a 11.00 index .. he sold it back to the Lingenfelters .. my question is .. who installed the Ford rear ? it had a 12 Bolt ..someone told me its in Ken Lingenfelter"s museum collection but i don't see it on the website .. Do you know where the car is today ?

This discussion has become rather "unique", as for those who aren't aware, "DUB", the original poster, and restorer of the Lingenfelter, car, unfortunately passed away, a while back. If I understand correctly, at least by what was posted in this discussion, the car had not been finished, before "DUB"s passing.

RIP, "DUB", you are surely missed................

My 68 was the one DUB last referenced in 2019.

Mine also was not finished and we retrieved it still in many parts/ over a year ago. Slowly working to get it back together ourselves. We trailered it to him all the way to Charlotte NC from central Oklahoma.

DUB had it from 2017 till his passing.

So many questions I wish he could answer. 😞 He took a lot of amazing knowledge with him.
