Default wet sanding and buffing car

spent a couple hours today wet sanding and buffing the left rear fender and rear bumper today. tree looks better now. didn't do anything for me. this is not original paint. car was painted last year and has 6 coats of clear.

before

started with 1000 grit

found a run in the clear

moved to 1500, 2000, and finished with 2500

buffed with 3m rubbing compound and polish

You made quite an improvement. The initial sanding photos showed just how much orange peel you had and the uneven areas in the surface.

I did this once before about 10 years ago on a 69, I used 3M Finishing Film or Trizact (??) started with 1000, than 2000, 3000 and ended up at 5000 on a rotary air sander. Than I started the buffing process.

Car went from a 30 footer to a 5 footer. It was a really jacked up paint job.
