Been lurking following this thread.

I did the same to my 76 last year. Your pics could almost have been my pics.

My car had the original lacquer paint. I stripped with a combination of razor blade scraper, heat gun, Citristrip chemical stripper and hand sanding. didn't use any power sanders, I was too afraid of one getting away from me.

I used Evercoat's VPA to fill the bonding strips after completely removing the old factory filler, and Evercoat slick sand and then 2K primer, block sanding, sanding, sanding till I had dreams in my sleep about block sanding ha,ha.

Came out great.

One of the things I learned was why a good paint job costs so much!.

Congratulations, yours looks beautiful. The good thing is you know exactly what was done to it and what is under that pretty paint.

I recently bought a 1971 Mulsanne Blue 383 stroker too, everything has been done to it except a good paint job and I'm thinking about tackling that one.

You are going to be getting a lot of nice comments about your car once you take her out in public.....and you earned every one.
