Default 84 C4 Corvette Blisters

I'm looking at an 84 that has the bad spots shown in the pictures. My obvious concern is that these are going to come back even with a good prep and paint, I can get the car cheap, good otherwise Passenger side B-pillar
Top of driver side rear fender
Up close
Between driver side door and bad spot above. Only area with blisters.

1984 Corvettes are known to have issues with the SMC ..causing blistering.

There is NO guarantee that these will not come back.... unless you remove the bad SMC and laminate in fresh material....or panel replacements.

i would have guessed that there would have been some blistering along to top of the doors and the hood also. I have seen this A LOT!

A lot of this can be accelerated by using a car cover outside....regardless of the type of cover. This can happen. Especially in hotter/more humid climates/

This car would be perfect candidate for wrapping it.

Think I'd rather paint eventually. Do some of the marine fillers like Marine Tex work with SMC? I've always loved these products for boat work and most will take paint.

not sure if this car ever had a cover. It has 52k miles in it, current owner is the second, first had it for 30 years and put 19k on it. Current owner drives it daily and leaves it outside.

I do not sue the 'Marine Tex'. That is something that you would have to call them and talk to them about.

Not knowing what area of the world you are in due to your Public Profile has not been filled out with just basic information and nothing specific...I can not comment on the issues of the car being left outside.

For what it's worth, this site doesn't seem to let me update my profile from the phone, which is what I'm usually on. I'll have to try on the laptop.

Thanks for that..and I guess you will know what needs to be done once the areas are stripped and investigated.
