Fiberglass T-Tops Stored in Factory Bags Caused Paint Checking
I have stored fiberglass T-tops in their factory bags for about 16 years in a basement closet. I just removed them from the bags and the paint is badly checked all over both tops. The closet maintains a fairly constant temperature with some humidity since it is in the basement.
I am not sure what type of paint it is.
Can this type of storage cause the problem? The paint on the tops looked excellent before the tops were stored.
Below is a picture of the tops and bags, though it is difficult to see the checking. It shows up best in the picture where the ceiling lights are reflected.

YEP...those bags basically make it like a greenhouse. Moisture being trapped whether it is hot or not is still moisture being trapped. Although the bags are supposed to keep things out...IF whatever it is that gets in the bag.....they keep it in also.
I can see the crazing/checking in your photo for what it is worth.
