Where do you start---body mounting
Took in a 61 convert. Previous shop removed body from frame. I got it with body just dropped onto the frame no mounting bolts, bushings, shims.
Nothing.
I imagine I have to block up the frame and make sure its level, Insert the rubber mount bushings, But how do you determine shimming??
Yes they did pull the doors off when they painted it now the doors are back on, fit is horrid.

Having some of the books that deal with the 61 Corvette like yours is wise. Such as the Factory Assembly manual for starters.
In that manual it will give specific areas to measure from to make sure that you have the body shimmed correctly. Assuming that there is no twist or a 'diamond' in the frame where the body mounts go.

Thanks DUB. I do have a FSM for the car just haven't flipped thru it.
Body shop guy left it(the book) out in the rain so its not in the greatest condition.

Glad that you have it or possibly get another one. Taking the time to flip through it and understand what you are seeing will help you out greatly.

The c1's can be adjusted by shimming the front and rear end to get the top door gap just right
Set your body on the frame
very quickly you are going to see where the body hits the body mounts and where it doesnt
- make sure to have your body mount shims in place first CC part number 181209
- shim up to the body
- shim the front and rear to close the door gap
it take a while to get it just right
