Maybe cut out as much of the B pillar as needed to get to the quarter repair. Then get the aftermarket pillar and piece it back in keeping all of the original curved profiles that are on the top and bottom ? Just a thought, you will know best. Good Luck!

May have to do just that. I picked up the pillar panel that we have and it appears to be incorrect. It doesn't have the edge for the quarter trim panel to be attached to. I may just end up splicing the 2 together. Not sure I want to spend the $100 or so for a correct one when I have all the supplies to make what I have work.

Blending the curves of the flares has been very time consuming. Very happy with how they are coming along though. My neighbors may be sick of hearing rock music playing until 11 or 11:30 at night with my garage open. But, some of us have badass corvettes to work on, so we have to get work done whenever we can.

Yup, they sort of both go together. Especially when working with VPA!

what are you using to sand the vpa on the flairs, heres my quarter area, i used a radiator hose and could not get the waves out, ended up using the durablock af4400 and it worked great.

I've been using a combination of a long wide Dura block and I believe the vf4400 little round Dura block. Very time consuming to get the blends just right. I would like to get a set of style line soft sanders, but they are very pricey for a set of glorified pool noodles. Which does give me an idea about cutting up some pool noodles....

Tonight I made a decision I can't back out of...

Getting the bonded in portion has been a giant paint in my butt and I'm not quite done. I will work on that more tomorrow. And hopefully I can start to build back up the fender with some fiberglass tomorrow night.

I see you added the reverse gills . I did the same to my 69 , although my front panels are off the car so it was a lot easier to get mine on .It looks like yours come from the same place as mine ,I had to make the holes in the gills as well. One thing I did with mine was to heat them up and bend them into shape before glassing which helped.

Your doing a great job on your family owned car , I am sure all your hard work will be rewarded when your done.
