Looks like the paint is simply worn off to me. Close up pictures would help especially when DUB takes a look.

I see what appears to be 'fish-eyes'...which leads me to believe that this a repair that as not been fully completed. That hash mark near the edge of the area is raising concern ...because ...the SMC hood would never look like that.

It appears to have been primed..and then it looks like aerosol paint was being attempted to be applied to it.

I tried.

I can not understand how you can not understand the second paragraph

Basically. it looks like someone tried to fix this area and did not finish it.

And those white or creamy yellow dots you can see in your first photo that are showing through the black paint. THOSE are what are called or know as 'fish-eyes'.

I was just being facetious. I kinda understood it. I'm not a paint guy in the least. Should it be a big deal to fix. I don't want to repaint the car it's too expensive.

With the photos you posted...and not being there to actually see and feel the hood. It will require the half of the hood from your center stripe to be painted on that side and clear coated.

Attempting to spot in or blend the paint in that area is fine...but that side of the hood should be completely clearcoated so a line will not shop up.

Because, if you spot the clearcoat in also. where ever it stops...and it is sanded and buffed. In time...that edge will show up. AND on black and being on the top surface...it will REALLY show up. That is why you would want to clear that half of the hood completely.

Well that stripe was 20 bucks to put on and I did it my self. So I don't mind ripping it off. Do you think the car would look silly with a newly painted hood and the rest of the car not painted? That's my biggest concern. And the cost to paint it would be as much as the 7000 I paid for it

So much of it depends on the condition of the paint on the doors and other parts...and if they can be buffed/polished and brought to the shine to match the hood.

SO it is had to say if it would silly or not.

I paint hoods (and other panels) and have to buff out adjacent panels to try to get the rest of the car to match in the shine many times. In some cases...it comes out well..in other cases...not so much.

I'll have to take it somewhere to get them to look at it. Thanks again . For now I'll just drive it and enjoy it regardless of how that paint is. It's my first one so I'm just happy to have it and the rest of it seems pretty solid for 31 years old. Take care Dub.
